ramsfan00 90 Posted June 24, 2014 Players use to be much more spread out before .44.. Then it became a battle of the NE of the map. Is there any more dispersion or is it still all NE?

frosti 2165 Posted June 24, 2014 Join excremental. They are everywhere. That's becouse experimental servers (apart from accidents) restart strictly every 4 hours, and this force people to clean up whole map for food.
tobias winfro 305 Posted June 24, 2014 Lots of server hoppers at NWAF and Veresnik mil camp.Really? I rarely run into anyone one the west side of the map, I tend to stick to the west side of the map unless I'm in the mood for some shooting. Ran into maybe 5 people between Balota and NWAF in the last 30 hours on high, low and medium pop servers at all times of the day. Maybe I'm just lucky

Even to check, I was raiding it and closing all doors, I came back to check again ~20 minutes later to find all door opened. This was repeating on every server. crazykage 1063 Posted June 24, 2014 server hopping is totally out of control atm so i switched over to camp the tentcitys and hunt for scum. hows that workin out for you? You get a lot of them? Also curious how you distinguish between farmer and legit player that made the trek. Not judging. I don't care how you get your kicks. Just curious.
Lord Ikka 25 Posted June 24, 2014 I still don't get why people like NEAF- the total loot is so much less than at NWAF or Balota. One run through of either of the latter two and you pretty much have everything you'll need. The only time I run NEAF is when I spawn near Svetlo.
Kaboki 62 Posted June 24, 2014 Met people in Elektro, Cherno, Balota and Zelenogorsk today on a pop server, so people can be everywhere... One thing I learned about Dayz is, no matter how unlikely people say it is to meet people certain places, be prepared that you most likely will meet them where you won't expect to meet them. People are everywhere....

Cannon76 13 Posted June 25, 2014 (edited) That's funny because I make big long loot runs all the time on servers and when I know I will be logging out soon I log out somewhere close to where I can start another long loot run when I log back in. To claim a server hopper has particular habits that tell you as an individual without question that they are server hopping is total an utter BS. This is merely you justifying your KoS mentality and its pretty weak. Quite frankly who cares how another player got their equipment?Did they buy the game? Yes. Did they play the game? Yes. Are they allowed to play on any server they want? Yes.Does it seriously and adversely affect you and your game? No. It doesn't. Not in the slightest. People will be logging in and out of any server ALL F'n DAY. To do what? Take a guess...looting for equipment and supplies. ANY server you jump on could be looted dry at any point that you log on. It's part of the F'n game. In fact its a pretty BIG part of the F'n game. Eventually loot respawning will be implemented and servers won't be resetting every 2-4 hours. The absolute non-issue will be even less so. Even then, people will still hop around looking for the server that's right for them, based on their individual needs, and gameplay desires, which won't necessarily match yours. So shove off. Let people be. Furrealz. Edited June 25, 2014 by Cannon76

I am like Fafnir, the mythical dragon that protects the Rheingold. Slay me and bring honor to yout clan. I shoot people ! get over it! Did i say that its part of the game ??? By the way Travelers mostly leave NWAF and travel further north to the jailbuilding in the forrest.. and you dont have to shove off I really want u to enjoy the game, and u enjoy it because of the constant state of paranoia u have to be in, to survive ! and guys like me are the reason that you always have to be on your toes. p.s. outside military compounds im 65% friendly. Evil Minion 943 Posted June 25, 2014 Does it seriously and adversely affect you and your game? No. It doesn't. Not in the slightest. It does. A lot. Because it creates an overabundance of:high level gearweaponsammunitionbored players with nothing else to do than shooting others for funfood (because most server hoppers will fill up on their loot servers)
MarchmelloMan 16 Posted June 25, 2014 Actually NEAF is even more „overcrowded“ than before. Can barely do a single visit there without encountering aggressive 2-3 player squads. No wonder that it got worse since 0.44 -> lots of spawning points are around NEAF plus everyone wants to get the new AKM -> easiest way to get it are AFs and the AF which has the most spawn points nearby is the NEAF -> tada overcrowded
Cannon76 13 Posted June 29, 2014 It does. A lot. Because it creates an overabundance of:high level gearweaponsammunitionbored players with nothing else to do than shooting others for funfood (because most server hoppers will fill up on their loot servers)Lol, I am going to have to respectfully disagree that these are real issues. It reads like this to me; "The problem is other players are able to get geared up and shoot back at me when I try to murder them." IN regards to me previous post also. You don't have to shove off. That was rude. My point just was that you don't have to make lame excuses to play the way you do. If you enjoy murdering other players, if that's the best thing you can come up with to get the most out of the game, so be it. Just be realistic bout it. You don't have to "justify" it with weak @$$ claims. I just think there is more fun experiences to be had with this game other than PvP. Hell I was trucking it thru some woods yesterday and thought to myself....with all the animal and hunting additions how cool would it be if I just ran into a F'n grizzly bear right now? Anyhow. Play your way. Everyone.
Buffaloe 87 Posted June 29, 2014 I still don't get why people like NEAF- the total loot is so much less than at NWAF or Balota. One run through of either of the latter two and you pretty much have everything you'll need. The only time I run NEAF is when I spawn near Svetlo. When i went there it was not that much about getting loot than getting action. Going west is perfectly fine, but sometimes you don't wanna make a trip over half the map, especially when you know that getting geared up will transform you into a murderous maniac. That beeing sad I think the changes to NEAF are really good. They only have to flesh it out a little. However, encouraging people to spread over the map is one thing, keeping the game interestings via encounters is another. Therefore max player numbers will have to increase, since 40 players are just not enough to populate the map. Evil Minion 943 Posted June 30, 2014 It reads like this to me; "The problem is other players are able to get geared up and shoot back at me when I try to murder them."This statement says a lot about your mindset - along with defending server hopping. Everyone is allowed to play his way? So cheating is okay I guess?
Jesterarts 85 Posted June 30, 2014 In answer to this thread, I usually head West as soon as I spawn. In the past I managed to get all the way to NWAF and spent two days gathering gear, then headed out SW without encountering a soul. Then something glitches and my character wiped.Classic DayZ.In regards to server hopping, I don't see the big deal. It's a part if the game just the same as KoS.I don't server hop as such, though each time I play I pick a server at random, usually the lower populated so I get a chance to explore the map.But once on a server I will stick with it for that session of play unless it boots me out or there are serious tech issues.Given that, I would hate to think someone targetted me only because I spawned in a favorable area. Kill me because you were going to KoS not just because you think I am a hopper. Or atleast don't try to justify your KoS with a greater cause.
freethink 984 Posted June 30, 2014 Seems to be plenty of action at Balota once more. Reminded me a lot of the old neaf in terms of action.

There are even various countermeasures planned to put an end to it. Essentially, it's as much a glitch as peeking through walls. From the very beginning it was unintended. You can server hop, just like you can glitch infinite ammo. Both are classified as cheating, though one more than the other.
