Why does Dayz not have a proper gun detection system ?

Really? I played alot of DayZ Mod, and it was utterly unpredictable there, and there was no way to lower your weapon manually. It just happened. Also in order for this to work, they will need to redesign the character colisionbox. It's too fucking big.

Ctrl + R lowered your weapon.

Far from the truth, there a mod that does exactly that for Arma III :) Automaticly lower and raise your weapon, based on the distance from a wall and the direction you are looking in.

So it is very possible within the RV engine.

BUT like many other features, it comes with downsides and bugs, which makes it difficult to ensure it works 100% of the time, no matter what, at least when we are talking about modding.

 

I wonder how that would look if the devs implemented it on an engine basis.

Yeah, but in Arma 2 you couldn't fit through a door sideways even if you were unarmed, nevermind with a lowered rifle.

 

Thats true, but hopefully its things like that they will want to fix in DayZ.

It makes sense to walk sideways through a door with either no weapon or a lowered one imho.

 

I have my hopes hehe. ;)

Absolutly horrible.

 

It would piss me off liek hell if my character would randomly put down weapon in building when I accidentally or laggy touch the wall, add to that PvP situation.

Ok, so make it an option, simple :)

It doesnt give any kind of advantage and people prefer to play with or without.

Its kinda like deadzone tbh.

 

I have to admit ive used it for Arma III for a long time and been quite happy with it, it very rarely lowered the weapon when i didnt want to.

I agree make long gun have disadvantage for shooting in small area is obvious for game like this what is proud of detail realism also give saw off shotgun and pistol new advantage in the house battle but maybe is impossible for this game because walls don't even stop zombie and sometime players glitch through also so maybe in dayz physic system walls are not solid like in other 3d game like battlefield but is mirage illusion but don't have real solid effect on the items, I read somewhere they have problem stop zed hit going through walls so they need to make a map for the zeds to go and explain where is wall and fences etc so maybe long gun always going through?
