crazykage 1063 Posted June 19, 2014 I think they did! If so, I am officially stoked. I notice that my pistol shots don't go wide and miss nearly as often, unless I have been sprinting rather heavily, and even then POINT BLANK shots are still quite accurate (in the past, I have observed shots missing entirely from less 10 feet away, even in a rested, kneeling position. Not anymore. I also tried a few test shots with my mosin (pristine PU scope, compensator, bipod, and bayonet), and had no problems hitting what I was aiming for. But I also have to admit that I only took a few shots. Conclusively I can NOT be conclusive. I may have just been lucky. But further testing will reveal, I hope, that randomized ballistics is either gone (still tended to miss pistol shots at ranges of about 20 meters, but was probably due to having been recently sprinting), or can be compensated for by resting after a long sprint and having good quality attachments (which is fine by me. The way I see it, it "simulates" having to maintain your weapon). I will test further and report back with my results, but I would also like to hear the communities' experiences and observations. Chaingunfighter 917 Posted June 19, 2014 (edited) The big question is - did they do it for the M4 too? It's the only gun I've actually ever seen a problem with the accuracy. The pistols could probably have used some improvement, too, though. And by good quality, I'm assuming you meant "pristine" or "good" condition items, rather than specific items like the MAGPUL handguard or stock. hotcakes 348 Posted June 19, 2014 (edited) More like expectation bias. A compensated nugget has always had no spread. And most of the pistols still have a dispersion value of 0.03. I checked. (In comparison that's 6x worse than the SKS' value of 0.005, which is already lackluster) Item quality doesn't matter yet. You can glitch ruined parts onto the gun and they'll work fine if it isn't a scope. Find dispersion modifiers here:http://dayzdb.com/items Most of the dispersion values are in this thread:http://forums.dayzgame.com/index.php?/topic/197241-weapon-accuracies/ If you want to look in the game files, download PBO Manager and unRap to open the config files. Jex 1104 Posted June 19, 2014 Dispersion should never have even been discussed - What idiot decided dispersion was a good idea?
gibonez 3633 Posted June 19, 2014 Dispersion should never have even been discussed - What idiot decided dispersion was a good idea? I think they ment well initially. They wanted to give value to the attachments they were going to put in game. Instead of merely being cosmetic or utilitarian attachments the devs decided to go with a super unrealistic approach and it seems it backfired nobody likes the dispersion game mechanic. Except dispersion is well known for being hated - especially in the arma community. Attachments aren't really going to deteriorate anyway that much. What they do need to add is maintenance. Oil for you bipod or expect it to break.Clothe for your scope or expect it so smear upWeapon cleaning kit for your gun or have it blow up in your handsMake it so all guns have to be zero'd as well. Stock sights should be adjustable.
rybo 171 Posted June 19, 2014 (edited) Bagged a Zed with my suppressed .22 pistol from at least 100 yards away with one shot standing. So I know that's been changed it was originally no good at 50m and at around 25m the damage would go down too. Otherwise I'm a mosin guy due too dispersion being jacked. If it's better for rifles too I'd like one of the new AK's or a trust M4. Edited June 19, 2014 by RyBo

The rest though. Spot on. Edited June 19, 2014 by RyBo

KingOfTime 267 Posted June 20, 2014 The Engraved1911 seems to be right on at a range of 20-30m. Hard to thoroughly test because I dont have a mag for it.
