Loving the Amphibia S

Recommended Posts

I never used the little .22 much, but I'm loving it lately. Way better range than I guessed and can find rounds everywhere. Was messing around and dropped a zombie in Zelenogorsk today from the top of the police station. With a .22 pistol! Too fun.

I'm not sure if an update changed its effectiveness or not, but give that little beauty a chance when you find one. .

Really wish there was a small hunting scope for the sporter.

^Next you'll be wanting pistol grips lol.

Really dude?

Small diameter 3.5 scopes are pretty standard fair on squirrel poppers.

Its mags are rare, though

Not really, they just have not added their mags anywhere else but military tents.

Jailhouse "office" as well. Found one on desk.

Of the new pistols added, the Longhorn, damn.... just, damn...

The Amphibia though is a great way to clear zombies in town without making too much noise. Sure the axe is good too and has a certain old school charm, but if you are creeping through a town that might have opposition players as well as zombies you want something that will do some damage at a distance.

The only problem I found was the magazine being a complete bugger to find.

The tracers it shoots are dope.

It's not supposed to shoot tracers, it only fires tracer rounds when you chamber a round, if you find a magazine and fire like 5 shots there are no tracers to be seen.

What makes using .22LR's a pain is, that even when Sporter is pure civie weapon, you find mags only in military places.

I mean we should be able to find sporter mag in office buildings, red brick houses or piano houses.

It seems as they are part of military loot which is hillarious.

I still think they need to get suppressors functional on other weapons. I want to see how they approach it sans subsonic ammunition.

Will they just do it Hollywood style? (Wouldn't necessarily be opposed to this)

Or

Will they do it so that it makes supersonic rounds slightly quieter and diffuses/modulates the sound?

Plus, a lot of it has to do with how they handle zombie aggro as well.

i like how the 22 ammo is really plentiful. Once you have a mag you can just empty it again and again and again.

Yeah the .22 weapons are nice against zombies but against other players, might as well use your fists.

Just had a fight with the Sporter, saw someone on top of the school, aimed and shot his head, he falls, go to him check the pulse "has a strong pulse". Wow ok, put another bullet in and fire in the head "has a strong pulse", really? Shoot another "has a strong pulse" COME ON. His friend comes to take revenge, i run and circle behind him, shot him in the head, he falls. While going to him the first guy that i shot lights me up with his mosin.

I know its suppose to be a bad weapon because you can have 30 bullets in the magazine but still...

2 rounds to the head of a player SHOULD be death. No reason not, due to massive blood flow and those small calibers bounce around inside the skull.

Weren't devs and players recently throwing a hissy fit over not wanting to add a certain type of ammunition because it was too similar to one that was already in?

I actually highly doubt they'll add any special ammunition for silenced weapons

I doubt they will too, Chris Torchia has said explicitly that they're not interested in adding subsonic ammunition at this juncture.

I wasn't suggesting that they add subsonic rounds.

I'm merely suggesting that, in lieu of subsonic rounds, they (in my view) have two approaches available to suppressors.

1. Make them "Hollywood" (i.e. silent/suppressed whilst using supersonic ammunition)

2. Make them "realistic" with only supersonic ammunition (i.e. slightly quieter, but still very loud, and a more modulated sound as to make it more difficult to ascertain the origin of a shot).

Yea If the sporter spawned with even 1 or 2 magazines it would already be far more useful than it is now.

This is probably why all civilian and military firearms that require magazines should spawn with atleast 1 or 2 empty magazines.

key word is empty.

real hardcore players primary a sporter ... if only the barrel and stock could be cut down .... even though the little plinker rages as many zombies as a sks .. plenty or 10/30 mags for sporter ... you can also chamber a single round in the sporter very fast ... the amp is perfect lonewolf side arm although agreed with earlier post the mags are stupid hard to find compared to sporter mags ...

Or atleast make those mags to spawn in civilian buildings. But yes, some % chance for Sporter or pistols to spawn with empty magazine would be great.

Also not sure if AKM mag rarity isn't too crazy either (30rnd ones, drum should be reasonably rare).

its called SUBsonic not supersonic because the bullets dont break the soundbarrier ( less POOF )

and for the magazines ... ive got FIVE  of theese little sneaky bastards and they where a pain to find!
