Not Here To Complain About Rubberbanding...Exp build.

Recommended Posts

Okay, we all know that rubberbanding is a huge issue and is being worked on and im okay with that. But i dont understand why they can't just push the patch to stable and remove what caused the rubberbanding because im sure ALOT of players would enjoy to have all the new features and everyone who hates the rubberbanding can just go back to Stable without it feeling like a downgrade.

This would keep everybody in stable happy and not stale. I would not suggest this if there were more experimental servers but at the moment almost every server in the US is full half the time.

Dean sadly only has limited options.

OP states not here to complain about rubberbanding.

OP proceeds to complain about rubberbanding.

DayZ Dev: Dean, I found the cause of the rubberbanding!!! It was so simple my daughter actually figured it out while doodling for a school project (3rd grade). It's the worms Dean.

Dean Hall: Sweet! Who would of thought it was just one single thing causing the issue? Thanks for fixing DayZ young padawan. Please proceed to remove that one piece of code and then rollout everything else as if removing that one piece of code will have no ill effect on anything else, because history has shown that's not possible. Now if only we could hire Jacobahalls!

I thought that they moved from client side posititioning to server side positioning and that was the cause of rubberbanding. I was meaning just to remove that feature so they could put the other features like hunting and cooking in stable.

The rubberbanding is related to loot spawn per Dean http://www.reddit.com/r/dayz/comments/23pe9t/psa_the_rubberbanding_on_045_experimental_is/cgz9n1c?context=1

Loot spawn is vital to DayZ moving forward, so it's more important they resolve the core issue than put in hunting or cooking. They would rather push most, if not all of everything in the current exp to stable but only after they address the rubberbanding. We need the loot to respawn more than we need cooking I guess you could say. Just hang in there.

I am literally speechless.

Thing is, the servers are so weak they can handle literally nothing. What is currently on stable is already stressing the servers to an unhealthy extent.

One thing I think could be cool is allow peoples servers to choose 'stable or experimental' then they experimental servers won't be so impossible to join, because everytime something new comes out everyones gonna want to try it !
Or just make everything experimental.

Or just make everything experimental.

Experimental is not where you would want the entire player base to be. It's full of bugs, more so than stable build, so it makes zero sense to have everyone always on experimental. Yes a lot of people initially rush to experimental any time there is a significant addition to the game but it generally dies down after the first few days. I've never had issues joining exp servers (when they're up). Experimental is for small data sampling after internal testing. The idea is to find any bugs they missed internally and before those bugs make it to stable where you're large player base is and where the implications of bugs is much more serious.

This isn't directed towards you but more so in general; what would be cool is if everyone understood game development to some degree and actually had some patience. We've waited this long for what has been shown in exp so we can wait a little while longer until it's ready to be pushed out to stable. Dean was right when he said they probably should of made SA closed-alpha or at least cost a significant amount to get early access as it would weed out the people who came to play a game rather than help with development (and have fun too). Similar to Star Citizen on Kickerstarter where you had to have big bucks and be commited as a backer to get in on the development early. This model would typically weed out the players that are not the core scope of development.
