Reporting Hackers?

So I've been running into more hacking incidents recently, now I don't want this to dissolve into the rhyme and reasons of hacking nor do I want a discussion on how frequent it's encountered those threads have been done to death and I'm pretty sure everyone's sick of it by now. I was just wondering if there's anyway or point to reporting it if you catch the player name? I tried searching for some info but found nothing definitive.

Not really, you can report their profile on Steam. These reports don't directly result in bans however VAC can decide to investigate their machine a little differently, more aggressively, more frequently, or sooner based on those reports.

As I personally do not wish to see name tags floating over players head reporting hackers is going to be troublesome.  Perhaps the devs could implement a "you were killed by xxx" that only you can see.

Nope, DayZ is the ultimate Hacker/Glitcher playground right now, there is no real effective way to report anyone not to the server admin or to anyone else i.e. Battle eye or Bohima. That is why just about everyday now, I'm running into the flying dudes that shoot the crap out of you, or the guys that are on the other side of a wall and know your name and the name of your entire team when they talk to you, or the guys with 10,000 rounds of M4 ammo etc.. Just about every day this week I have run into either a Hacker or a Glitcher. It's just the way DayZ is right now.

 

Got killed by a flying dude yesterday. Day before that it was a warper.

It sorta sucks, a lot of hackers do it so blatantly and I've killed a fair amount as well as gotten some to talk etc, so you do find their names some times.

Wish there were a way to report them.

 

 

I suggest staying away from Berezino.  I was playing primarily at the neaf and got sick of the wall glitchers/dupers so we switched it up to Berezino, but we noticed Berezino is where the real hackers (teleporters etc) hang out.  It sucks, because there's not a lot of options for consistent pvp, but Berezino is by far the worst place right now.  Hackers are lazy and most stay close to all the action though.

I had my very geared out Hardcore character die to a camper.  No problem. Respawn.

 

Spend a few hours gearing up followup character.  KOS as an unarmed bambi.  Died.   No problem. Respawn.

 

Spend many more hours gearing up another character and then have a hacker on the server remove all of my gear and ammo with-in a few seconds.  Now we have a huge issue.   This issue drives me crazy!   Where's Bohemia Interactive on this?   There are so many great examples on these forums and videos on youtube you can watch all day.

 

What's the point of paying and playing for an Alpha-stage game, yes I understand and completely accept that it's still being developed, when these hackers wipe your progress instantly?    All of the hours spent designing every aspect of this beautiful game will be wasted away when you have these hackers ruining the gaming experince.
 

Here's the kicker!   The player I suspect, since the server was pretty empty, has their Steam Profile avatar blantently displaying the hacking application.  Unreal.

 

Please provide of method to report suspected hackers, since it doesn't seem proper posting their Steam profile here publicly.

Totally Agree.  I don't mind dying by anyone armed or bambi (if I'm dumb enough to let them get that advantage) as long as it's Legit.

The hacking thing totally SUCKS!

Couldn't find a more suitable topic than this one, so here it is:

Today while overlooking Svetlo, two full-gears blew up the gas station with their hacked mags of infinity +1 (hooow original yawn) over and over again.

 

At one point they came running out of the ruins (like they'd just showed up there. Really weird) in my direction at about 450 meters. One of the guys was glitching in such an awkward way, I've never seen it before.

 

It was as if he was hovering on the ground, his legs not moving (his buddy was moving in a normal fashion though). All the time while he was hovering around at sprint speed, he was doing something weird with his arms, like brushing off his shoulders, kind of like the movement you make when you put your rifle in your hands, but continuously.

 

(I took a shot at him btw but then hauled my ass out of there, not knowing what other super-powers he had)

 

I swear it was like he was using some kind of macro.  I made a video of it but don't have a youtube account as of yet.

 

Anybody ever seen anything like this?

yeah that happens all the time, people get stuck in the gun taking out animation and they repeat it very very quickly. all he needed to do was take out a gun and it would stop that animation, it happens to my friends all the time. don't know about the hovering over the ground part though.

I'm not an expert. But back in my programming days ( a looong time ago) we learnt about this thing I think they called "plausibility checks". Stuff like that the system would check where you were one second ago and then verifiy if it made sense that you were at the point you're at now. Pray forgive me if I'm being silly, but this is programmable, no?
