Namffoh 0 Posted June 2, 2014 I can't join any servers, it tells me I have an unknown game version. The only way I can play is if I re-verify the game cache, but I need to do that every single time. It re-downloads the same 2 files every time I do it, it does this for CS:GO as well. I can play every other game fine, in fact I play Epoch more than I play the standalone. Anyone had similar issues? I've tried deleting the Battleye folder and re-validating, it just downloads the same 4 files and lets me play until I exit the game and try to play again.. kyzawarrior 1 Posted June 2, 2014 What system are you running on ? Do you know what files are downloading ? Are you running on administrator account or standart account ? Have you tried to reinstall steam ? Which antivirus/firewall program do you use ?
kichilron 8550 Posted June 2, 2014 (edited) Yeah standalone, still ain't working. Sorry I bought this thing, could've had The Forest... *siiiiiiigh* Have you tried anything of the things mentioned above? Before you jump to conclusions and give up prematurely, you'll atleast have to try one or two things. A search includes that "little effort on your side", as this is just what I found within 10 seconds of searching: http://forums.dayzgame.com/index.php?/topic/172703-battleeye-unknown-game-version/?hl=%2Bunknown+%2Bgame+%2Bversionhttp://forums.dayzgame.com/index.php?/topic/162292-battleeye-unknown-game-version/?hl=%2Bunknown+%2Bgame+%2Bversionhttp://forums.dayzgame.com/index.php?/topic/180233-2014-battleeye-unknown-game-version/?hl=%2Bunknown+%2Bgame+%2Bversionhttp://forums.dayzgame.com/index.php?/topic/172929-problem-with-battleeye/?hl=%2Bunknown+%2Bgame+%2Bversionhttp://forums.dayzgame.com/index.php?/topic/167670-kicked-battleye-unknown-game-version/?hl=%2Bunknown+%2Bgame+%2Bversion Edited June 2, 2014 by kichilron
Namffoh 0 Posted June 3, 2014 I've tried all of these, re-verifying is a temporary fix.I'm not re-installing steam and re-downloading all 30 or so games, but I've re-installed DayZ and ran Steam as administrator. I also don't use anti-virus, no need for it.
Namffoh 0 Posted June 3, 2014 I assume re-funds aren't available? This thing's worth £3 at the minute.
Namffoh 0 Posted June 4, 2014 Pls, reeeeefuuunnndd D: I've tried everything, this game version bug is just making a broken, buggy game even worse for me (and it's pretty hard for this thing to get worse..) I've tried deleting all the BattlEye folders (including the one in appdata) and re-verifying. I've also tried re-installing the game. What's next, re-install the fucking OS? REFUND PLS, I BEG YOU DEVELOPERS.
boneboys 7988 Posted June 4, 2014 As this is happening for other games that you own I suggest you make a support ticket at Steam. https://support.steampowered.com/kb_cat.php?id=
Namffoh 0 Posted June 4, 2014 It happens for CS:GO too, every other game works spot on. I already got a reply from them: Thank you for contacting Steam Support. Please exit Steam and go to the folder called C:\Program Files\Steam\ (this is the default location for a Steam installation - if you set a different installation directory, you will need to browse to it).Delete all of the files in this folder except: - Steamapps and Userdata folders - Steam.exe (this file is listed as an application and features the black and white Steam logo)Restart your computer. Then, launch Steam.exe from within the Steam installation folder, and not from a pre-existing shortcut. With Steam running, re-test the original issue.Note: This process will not affect your currently installed games. If the issue persists, make sure your network is optimized for Steam: Didn't work, just about ready to give up with this game. Serious question, IS A REFUND POSSIBLE? THIS IS 100% BOLLOCKS AND A WASTE OF MONEY
