Stop adding picked-up stuff to the hotbar

Dear devs,

 

please remove that newly picked-up stuff is added automatically to the hotbar. Especially for food and drink this is some kind of annoying, since you don't need that quick access to food.

agreed with this .... dont like how all my pepsi ... oh sorry pipsi lol ... gets assigned to the hotbar when i choose to just drink it

Anyway, I try to hold my hotbar as empty as possible (only melee weapon, pistol, rifle, binoculars and compass) since in the middle of a dangerous situation I don't wont to start eating just by hitting the wrong key.

 

At least you can clear a hotbar slot by your own. Dragging any other hotbar item to another slot and then drag it back. But nevertheless the auto-hotbar-assignment should be removed.

a random guy tried to punch me with his shovel, and instead of taking out my shotgun i started opening the map....

 

well, i fell unconscious and he killed me

 

lesson learned: delete every unnessecary item out of your hotbar AS SOON AS POSSIBLE ! :D

lol i had the same thing happen to me just it was about 5 zombies ... never fun when that happens and i had really good loot, but even if i killed them a guy was already shooting in the crowd and im sure his intention was to kill me. Still needs some fixing.

You don't like a row of soda cans along the bottom of the screen? lol 

 

Agreed. Maybe they can squeeze this one in before the next patch release. Seems like an easy one to tweak.
