Randomize loot spawning more?

I think it hurts gameplay when loot tables are pre-set in specific buildings. If you're searching for an ACOG, you know exactly what buildings spawn it, and loot them specifically. It's even worse in a civilian areas - piano houses, schools, tech building and police stations are the high-priority buildings, everything else is just a waste of time.

 

Guns, ammo and high-priority loot should be spread out, while still retaining to realism (police station should have a better chance at spawning guns and ammo). But there should be a chance to have weapon spawns in one of the apartment blocks as well, it makes sense and it releases the tension off the high priority buildings.

I completely agree. An algorithm or whatever, a table of chances of items spawning in different locations, would be awesome to implement. As of now you never bother to check out the small houses of the small cities, but this could change things up a bit. Good idea =)

Well, we have to assume the loot spawning mechanic is in its early phase.

 

With a global economy talked about who knows how the loot system will be in the future.

 

However, surely if guns were to be found it would be barracks and police stations you would search first.  Though i would like there to be a very small % chance of being able to find any loot anywhere.

Absolutely agree. Same thing that happend in the mod i.e run to redbricked houses ignore everything else. Now even though all buildings are enterable, people dont even bother because of high yield buildings.

IMO there should be no "tiers" of buildings. All buildings should be low yield.
