things that make you rage quit

Recommended Posts

getting KOS doesnt make me angry, glitch through walls and ladders doesnt make me angry. getting killed by a zombie because the game lags and on my screen im on the 2nd floor of a building but the server still sees me as in the middle of the street getting pummeled makes me rage quit. yes, i know its alpha, and bugs really bother me much, but dying to lag makes me want to punch my monitor.

What annoys me the most are the single shot pistols.

I mean sorry devs but the feeled 1 magazine that exists for maybe 50 guns on the whole

map is soooo annoying...

if you can shrug your shoulders at one undeserved death, you can at all of them. it's only a game.

Death is just an excuse to have a fisticuffs party on the beach!

Can't wait till the 100 pop servers are back.

Dying a second time immediately after the death of a long term character can put me over the top. Or a teammate's poor communication getting me killed.

Any death in berezino is to be expected and should be taken with a grain of salt.

The extremly low framerate, especially in the cities is really unberable.

I was in the city, suddenly fps drops....then I see my character move in ultra low slow motion,

like the game is running on a potato (which is not the case).Suddenly a zombie comes flying towards me,going through the walls of the Pub

and starts to punch me,i try to wield my axe-not working.I rage pressing the shortcut button-1 1 1 1 11111111 i'm like "WORK DAMMIT"

but noooo the rubberbanding equips unequips my axe repetadly,i try wasd all around, the avatar is not responding at all, after 30 secs i see him do a retarded dance walking forward, backwards, left and right.....while all theese things are taking place, the zombie

is hitting me,slowly bleeding to my death.I see the screen freeze and next thing you know, the "You are Dead" screens appears.

Well on the bright side the lag stops after that. :P

When several incidents occure in a row, such as; hackers kills me, the server desync kills me or if I am killed by anything bug related (glitchers included). After taking several of these to the face I have come to sometimes ragequit lately, mostly because I play the PvP role of the game, going to airports etc. I see ALOT of the wallglitchers and m4-scripters, which have gotten WAY out of hand.

So ye, dying in succession for reason beyond my own play-skills/style, makes me ragequit ocassionally. That beeing said, bugwise, other than people glitching inside the walls. Dying from falls and zombie oneshots isnt that maddening to me, it just is, hopefully fixeses are imminent.

This is an issue on experimental which you should note in your OP.

If you seriously rage over a game, there is bigger issues at hand lol.  This is supposed to be your time to go have fun and just chill, you do know there is no way to "win" in dayz right??

I agree. I find the subject of 'rage quitting' a fairly decadent phenomenon.

I'm a little curious if people who have this problem are used to playing preferred servers all the time? I used to have a few favourites that some friends and I stuck too, but almost always sort by ping now, and don't seem to have allot of these problems anymore, unless I go back to one that's spiking over 80-100. Perhaps I'm geographically lucky that I have a large selection of servers to choose from between 50 - 70.

I'm only running the basic cable service to my door so I only average 15-20 Mbps down, maybe .6 up when I'm lucky.

Think about that. You say it like 15-20Mbps should be the minimum for the game. the min should be somewhere under 1Mbps, not 20Mbps. The upside for me is right now, I can tell when someone approaches me, as i get the yellow-chain indicator. It will disappear shortly thereafter and then bam, I see the guy. It's like clockwork. Sad but true. I have an extremely consistent 3Mbps connection, and it is often not enough. They have a LONG way to go on network communications to make 100 person servers even close to possible.

Not sure I can aggree with this statement. Anger is simply an emotion, it's completely justified to get mad. It is perhaps wierd to get angry at something you are trying to entertain yourself with, but considering how movies and books play with your emotions, I see no reason why games can aswell. If you sincerely only find joy in the game, I think that's a wonderful thing, but I like emotionally bumpy road in DayZ.

Concerning the "win" part, I do aggree, however you'r still left with a bitter feeling once killed, fairly or not. Subjective I quess, but I'd argue most arn't happy dying atleast :)

The only times I've rage quit are when I lose fights due to something really stupid, usually my own fault but I don't want to admit it in the moment.  I'm not talking about normal fights, but squad fights or ones that are at least a little more in depth.

99% of the time I absolutely don't care, but I'm sure people know what I'm talking about, some times there's just that death/loss that rubs you the wrong way differently than the rest.

When that happens I'll rage quit in the loosest sense, but then like 10 minutes later I'll get back on =P

Ah, getting emotionally involved with forms of media and art is fine. And gaming is the most understandable form of visual media to get emotionally involved with so yea.

Being on the business end of that stupid graphical glitch where zombies don't physically appear, but still exist and can attack you, prompting you to hunt down the physical "body" of the zombie to kill the thing. I died today related to this.

I was moving along the waterside in Cherno, trying to get to Balota in order to loot the undisturbed (to my hopes, being so far away from the spawns) tent city. I hear zombie "pissed off" noises, think to myself "OH GREAT", and pulled out a bayonet to bring about some head-stabbin'. I whirl about to enact aforementioned head-stabbin'...

Nothing was there.

I turn around the look for the zombie, which has whacked me a couple of times by now (I am bleeding) I back up, to get a wider view, and accidentally fall off the dock.

No big deal, right? Just fall in the water, you say? Not in this case, sir!

Apparently, the water didn't come right up to the dock. I fell 15 or so feet onto dry land, to my death. Abusing the "esc glitch" I look around after my death, to see the zombie glitching out of the SIDE OF THE DOCK.

motherfuckers.

Actually, just had this happen yesterday and I haven't been back. I had a mosin, put it down because I found a shotgun and never used one so just wanted to test what the sight looked like.

No message received....server restart. I guess I better start hunting for shotgun shells soon. :(

I can't get the timer for my server to work but what I did instead is put the time that the server starts and ends in the MOTD.  Not my problem if they don't bother to read it  ;)

Yes I've seen a server or 2 that do that. Very helpful.
