TheLoneSurvivior 37 Posted May 20, 2014 Soo i was just server hopping the NEAF, inb4serverhoppingcomments. Saw a dude spawning in next to me, fully geared, i knock him out and take his stuff and flee. I log onto another server to head to berezino and have some fun, while my screen was still loading i hear somebody axing me, ''YOU ARE UNCONIOUS'' then ''YOU ARE DEAD''. Karma? Dagwood 680 Posted May 20, 2014 Is it more frustrating when you die after server hopping for gear or when you die after ground pounding to gear up?

dricht1 28 Posted May 20, 2014 By ground pounding he means running around on one server to collect gear instead of hopping at an airfield. I'd assume it depends on how much fun you have 'ground pounding', since the journey can be a helluva lot more fun than server hopping even if it takes longer. He means after you've spent weeks gearing up.Thanks, i understand now. Is it more frustrating when you die after server hopping for gear or when you die after ground pounding to gear up?Well, i took the fast way, but it's more frustrating when you lose full gear 3 times a day. Like i do.
guppy22143 1081 Posted May 20, 2014 Heres how you avoid losing gear 3 times a day1. Learn to fight, or to hide2. Be friendly instead of being a nooby bandit3. QUIT SERVER HOPPING FOR GEAR AND THEN LOOKING FOR TROUBLE!
Grimey Rick 3417 Posted May 20, 2014 I hate to say it, but I axed someone at NEAF today.

Once you cover the map the first time or two, it's really boring doing it again. Plus, the servers restart so much, you might be halfway across the map and it resets, and then all the regular hoppers jump in and hit the high value spots. Truly, gearing up isn't fun at all, unless you take it from a guy you just shot, then it is hellafun.

The first couple of hours as a newspawn getting geared up is currently the best fun to be had in this game.
MarchHare 184 Posted May 20, 2014 My joy comes at reaching far flung western sweet spots after village hopping, forest hiking, nearly starving and finding so much food/ industrials/weapons that I end up making "gear up" piles for some lucky lone wolf. I rarely ever even hit tent city.

I do it because it's needed, but it has long ago stopped being fun. But that is why it's a sandbox, some love the PVE of gearing up and hanging in the woods, and others want the interaction and adrenaline that comes from being at NEAF or Berez. Dagwood 680 Posted May 20, 2014 Just loot all of the NE towns. Lots of loot and lots of action. No server hopping necessary, more practice traveling undetected, less time watching loading screens. This community blows my mind

FMLHAHAHAHA You got what you deserved. There is a section of Hell reserved just for server hoppers that complain about being killed while hopping into/near high-value locations. They constantly spawn in, remain stuck on the "loading" screen, and get axed in the head before they can move.....FOREVER.

But that is why it's a sandbox, some love the PVE of gearing up and hanging in the woods, and others want the interaction and adrenaline that comes from being at NEAF or Berez. Basically because the looting process at the beginning is what mostly resembles the "survival game" that I hope the rest of the game will eventually turn into. Loot should become much much rarer, so the deathmatching will become of a whole lot different quality than the very predictable and ARMA carbon copy type of military team fighting that it presently is. And while your two examples may fit some, I certainly do not presently enjoy "hanging in the woods", because there is nothing to do there. I probably will later, but after I have geared up I do tend to go look for trouble in the hotspots (that would be Berezino), mainly in order for me to get myself killed so I can restart the fun part of the process. But while I very much do get the "interaction and adrenaline" it is not the most enjoyable part of the game for me.
Khanarac 252 Posted May 21, 2014 (edited) Id seriously like to "groundpound" and build up the character by looting anything I can find. But since nowhere beside NEAF and Berenzino any players can be found, I don't bother anymore to head inland. They finally need to adjust the spawnpoints and make proper lootspot decisisions (aka why go to NWAF when there is just the same loot as in NEAF?). They already said though, that lootspot balance is at the bottom of the priority list. Edited May 21, 2014 by Khanarac
