Downloaded Arma 2 and Arma 2 OA. Then I downloaded Dayz. The game starts up but I can't join any of the servers. I believe I need to update Dayz mod. For some reason dayz commander wont download on my computer. Can anyone leave a link to where I can download the update or give me steps on how to get this to work?

downloaded the mod off of steam. do I have to do anything extra. Before the game loads up it says requires addon. When I try to join a server it says I have a bad version of the game

What version of arma are you using?

You did not answer that question.

You need a beta version of arma2oa.

Right click on DayZ Mod in Steam -> Go to Properties -> Go to the Beta Tab -> Select the newest version of DayZ and it should start downloading. (1.8.0.3)

As for the recommended Arma II OA beta patch, simply go to http://forums.dayzgame.com/index.php?/topic/149928-dayz-mod-1803-hotfix/ and click the top link and it will start to download :)

Before the game loads up it says requires addon. 

 

 

Remember to include the exact errormessage. Noone can do anything with "requires some addon", as there can be hundreds of reasons for that.

 

Meanwhile, try this:

 

  1. Rightclick on ARMA 2 in your Steam-List and go to properties --> Local Files --> Browse Local Files
  2. In the ARMA 2 folder copy the contents of the "AddOns"-Folder
  3. Rightlick on ARMA 2: Operation Arrowhead in your Steam-List and go to properties --> Local Files --> Browse Local Files
  4. Paste the files inside "Common"-Folder. That's it. You're set.
