You don't even have to buy Supporters edition. You can get basic one and play.

But you can, of course, if you feel like giving developers an extra kick ;)

The Supporter Edition gives you not only the Standalone Game (Which you can get from just Steam for around $30, maybe less) but you also get all the games you need to play the Mod (plus more DLCs for ARMA2) and some other things like access to an exclusive forum and such.
