surrendering

Recommended Posts

If my friends and I come across someone or a group of people, no matter how geared they are, if they click f2 and hold up hands to surrender, we will not kill them. If we are a little worried we might handcuff and put a sack over them and then leave. It does not cause big problems, and is always nice to keep your gear and life when at a disadvantage. We try to follow a few laws of war and pretend to be UN peacekeepers with the blue helmwts for fun as well sometimes.

I have noticed though, that even if I am a new spawn or if I am a geared soldier I will almost always get shot when standing still with hands up surrendering, even with rifle on the ground in front of me.

I am curious to your thoughts and practices and experiences regarding this. Do you kill people who surrender?

Tl/dr bums :guy puts hands up - shoot?

I would never shoot someone with their hands up.. I would approach and see why.

Anyone who does, either is just not thinking, simply does not care, or really needs the shooting practice.

definitely would not, unless they were being uncooperative, just like i did shoot 1 guy in svetlo omce time  who was a new spawn who approaches us and kept talking on and on, he wouldnt go away when asked a few times, he just put his hands up and kept trying to chat. in the end i couldnt trust the situation,

I sadly would not take the risk.

Really wish the game had a realistic wound system where shooting someone would give them realistic wounds.

I rather close the distance incapacitate a person, bandage them and then rob them while they are passed out leaving them to heal up and rise from unconsciousness when I am long gone.

I was at the neaf a while back by myself, near the atc and turned around to see a guy down by the hangers looking at me.  I had a double barrel, and he was well outside my range but it looked like he was lining up a shot on me so I fired in his direction as I tried to get out of the way.  To my surprise, he immediately threw his hands up.  I approached him, and he apologized to me.  It was kinda crazy, but I didn't kill him.

Another time I was sniping at the nwaf, happily KOSing.  I missed a shot on a guy and he went around a corner, then he came back out and put his hands up.  I told him he could go loot the other end of the airfield and he ran off.

So nah, I don't shoot people who surrender.  I'm sure there's some circumstances where I would, like if I really couldn't afford having some guy running around in the middle of a bad situation, but normally I would not.

while there are places to loot guns at around, i will shoot even these guys

with dm_berezino being a get-killed-and-instantly-run-to-your-corpse area, i will literally shoot EVERYTHING thats not in my squad

I make the decision of shooting or not shooting based on the communication other players give me. And that communication isn't neceraly the verbal, intended one. It can be moves looking like trying to positioning himself out of a LOS, head turning regulary in a specific direction, anything giving away the possible presence of an other player that hasn't been brough to my attention by the guy ? Anything looking remotly suspicious ? He's dead.

On a side note, i'm more confortable with player simply waving and communicating on a decontracted way. Nearly never had to shoot or been shot with this kind a players.

And then, there's the situation i shoot, no matter what : the totaly uncommunicative guy. No hand signs ? no speaking ? no typing ? I'll warn that without answer i'll shoot. And i did shot a couple of guys that raised their weapon upon my warnings, or simply ignored them. Whether they stood in front of me, or tryed to run away.
