Considering these things are everywhere, even 3rd world countries, I think they would make an excellent addition to DayZ. I know we already have water purification pills, but you need a water bottle or a canteen to use them and those take up space. I know I haven't had a canteen or water bottle in my inventory since January. Each straw gets a set amount of uses before it goes bad…simple!

Right now these things are everywhere. If their in 3rd-world countries, they would be in Chernarus.

 

Google Image Search 'lifestraw' and look at all the impoverished countires that have LifeStraw's.
