PhantomGamers 5 Posted June 27, 2012 I read on OMG-Facts that Cows orient themselves based off of the magnetic pole.Is this present in DayZ?If not it would be a neat addition, another way for people to tell which direction they're going without having a compass.Source: http://www.omg-facts.com/Animals/Cows-orient-themselves-to-the-magnetic-p/52142Also sorry if this isn't the right section to post this in, seemed to be the best location. Cappy (DayZ) 6 Posted June 27, 2012 Hmm they may possibly use it for traveling, but i don't think they face a certain way all day, I'm from Norfolk too, a lot of Cows here, seem to face random directions, so not sure how it would work.I also read something similar about women, in that they have a higher concentration of iron in the tip of there nose which is attributed to their greater sense of direction than men, could be bull shit tho
PhantomGamers 5 Posted June 27, 2012 Yeah I have no idea how legitimate this is, just read it and it seemed interesting.Even if it was only for moving cows, it's not like cows in DayZ are restricted to fenced in areas like IRL, I would imagine they would travel a bit. dooks 1 Posted June 27, 2012 This was noticed by some dude with to much time and google earth. Seems to be a "hey check it out they are all facing north! Let me find more....ZOMG them too!!!" moment. The cows only face north when in the northern hemisphere and they face south in southern hemisphere however this is only observed while the cows are eating. Easier way is use the clouds they always move east for whatever reason.

But that's for another thread ;)
