regular to hardcore

Hi, just a quick question, I have always played regular mode, but I am thinking about trying Hardcore, will I lose my regular character when I log into a hardcore server and vise versa?

Not lose, but Regular and Hardcore servers use different characters. Meaning your character from Regular will be available only on Regular and the Hardcore one will only be available on Hardcore, but you can switch between them as you like.

Good to see more people moving to Hardcore servers, I never play on Regular, Hardcore gives you a completely different experience and immersion, you will love it!

I played on Hardcore-Servers for the first time.

It seems that there are more and faster zombies and they spawn in houses. Is that right?

I punched one down and ran away. Looked back and saw the zombie following me extreme fast.

 

I never saw that in the regular version of this game.

Hardcore and regular have only one difference, its the 1./3. person view.

The game it self is 100% identical, so either you never noticed it on regular, or you havent played alot since the last patch, which increased the zombie speed :)

I am playing it since nearly two weeks now. Not a long time, I know.

But I passed the same areas in HC and REG gaming and I think there were less Zombies in REG mode.

That might be because theres ALOT more people playing regular.

So theres more people jumping servers, going through the "high traffic" areas, and as far as i know, the zombies doesnt respawn like crazy anymore.

 

I also find people on HC seem to play the game differently, its alot more tactical as it requires alot more awareness of your surroundings, because you cant peek over walls in 1pp, and all that :)

Love HC, will never play on regular, but thats been my preference in all of the Arma games, from the start.

I tried Hardcore for the first time last night and just had a blast. I spawned in Solnichny quickly beat down three zombies by hand before finding a splitting axe for more zombie mayhem. I find it much easier to kill them in first person. I headed towards three valleys along the tracks and turned around and saw another fresh spawn duck behind a tree. I waved and spoke to him but he stayed in hiding. Probably hoping to sneak up and knock me out for my ax and empty B95. He followed me almost all the was to Kamyshovo but I was able to sprint away and he lost sight of me. I stood behind a tree when he walked right up to me, and I did my best Jack Torrance impersonation when I jumped out and hit him with my axe. Only he must not have seen that movie and just ran away as quickly as he could. I bet I scared the crap out of that dude though.

Make sure you give it at least a week before reverting back. I know it felt weird for me because I was so use to 3PP but after a week it felt like normal. There is no way I would go back now.
