How could we deal with hackers?

Sad to say GameBlocks would fix most of theses issues if set up correctly....

Take a good look at what has happened to bf4....

The only players that scream hacks in bf4 now are bad players end of story...

Me and my friend were killed by a aimbot hacker last night. 2 shots 2 headshots. And by the amount of bodies lying around we weren't the only victims. My friend even watched him take out a group of 3 with a Mosin. We play on public servers and hardcore but still can't avoid running into these under achieving losers. I will say this was the first one I've seen on hardcore. They hack then try to sell there hacks to newbs. Don't understand why even play the game. To all hackers/cheaters you clearly have no life skills or ever been good at anything in your life. You sir are a sad individual with no sense of honor or integrity.

I don't think they care, if anything that's the kind of post they wear as a trophy.

i have seen many hackers recently using teleport and esp aka radar on players around them and also have seen players shooting though multiple buildings with 25000 stacks of ammo this is ruining the game i hate diein to people who use this and then i have nothing and no way to report them or help stop the bs please fix the hackers my group of 3 was just ended and probly wont play again for mounths now because some guy teleports around useing esp and shooting everyone he sees occured on sever KARMA CLANS/ we help noobs at 935 eastern time right next to the town orlovets please please please stop the hackers soi can play dayz in peace

Hacking is on the rise, I used to not experience it much but lately there's a definite increase.  Hopefully they fix stuff like teleporting/esp/loot magnets or whatever, but I think they'll never be able to crack down fully.  It's the nature of online gaming.

 

I miss private hives and policing at this point.  Yeah, most of the time, admins etc are corrupt themselves and it's just as bad as the hackers but if you can find a good one it's at least a step in the right direction.  None of these anti cheat measures are good at dealing with hacks as they happen, which lets be honest, is when it's most important to us as players.  I mean it's great to know that the guy who killed you will probably get banned a month from now, but that doesn't do anything for me currently and by then there's gonna be some new hacks.

Being able to see who killed you is a necessity if you want to be serious about stopping hackers. This isn't global info , only you will see who you got killed by. No reason to vote against it (unless your hacker) Then add a report button so admins can look into it. If you get killed by same person within minutes in 2 different areas of the map obviously a teleporting hacker. You would only know this if you new your killer.

Battleye bans people after they get away with hacking for 2 weeks. By that time a new wave of undetected hacks is out and players are hacking again

This type of game needs hackers banned faster, otherwise all hard work of skill of staying alive is pointless!

You do realize it's impossible to set up any kind of stat tracking/admin related anti-cheat?

Yeah, don't do this, you don't want to end up in court for harassment/stalking.

 

As much as you want it to be, hacking isn't solved with neighborhood watch or threats but through proper securities built into the server. Trusting the client for anything makes it potentially exploitable. Again here, this is an alpha, the game specifications change from day to day, expecting BE to be as tight as possible is foolish. Right now the game is about getting things to work at all, security hardening is likely to be the last check-mark on the to-do list.

 

This is not a finished or fully functional product yet, right? So why would you expect it to be secure?

Ermmmmm no its not....

The game values inside the game don't change,trust me it can be done...

Thats the thing some cant seem to understand...

Certain game flies just shouldn't be allowed to be adjusted..period

Any way seems you know what your talking about so don't mind me...

Oh and its not a admin set up.....its the game Devs set up...

Who better to set it up they know the values better than anybody but hey...

What do i know..

So let's come up with possible solutions.

 

Firstly, a message saying who you were killed by is something that would help, so that if you go in to Berenzino and get killed by the same guy over and over despite looking at every rooftop, obviously some bullshit is going down.

 

So then I think a flag or kick feature could be added to the game, many people flag a player they get kicked. Though it would no doubt be abused by clans I still think it would be better than people getting away with hacking, if you get kicked for no reason so what you still have your stuff just join another server.

 

Or rather than that have active admins with their own slot in a server so that once a person is flagged they can go investigate(make them invincible or something but can't kill players) and if a person genuinely is hacking in to walls or whatever, kick. I'm sure they'd instantly be shot at to the point where it would be made obvious the person has infinite ammo too.

 

1) Kill messages won't work. If you can't see them it doesn't mean they are invisible.

2) Flag features can be easily abused by trolls and etc. Plus the function would stress the server is spammed.

3) Admins would abuse that power. Too similar to ESP.

 

RPT logs could work. Any logs for that matter might work.

This is not a basic FPS shooter, in which you can track a players stats and K/D ratios to determine if he's cheating. It's also basically impossible have a Gamemaster that watches over a player to see if he's cheating. 

As for value related anti-cheats (kick for travelling big distances bla bla), they seem rather risky. You can imagine that lagg could cause a lot of false positives. BE and a secure engine is still the best way to go!

You i dont mean to be rude but have zero idea....

Everything inside the world of Dayz has a value this is fact,and there are set ups that watch this and many more things that go on inside a game world...

thats why i was asking about players being inside buildings...this is a out of bounds area..

The same as ammo glitching,the same as gun food and ammo duplication,this would all by under that so there is not a need for the devs to spend time looking at trying to fix this issue it would be up to the Anti cheat.

And SS would have been good for admins to view,but there isnt that option to be used..

This is why i was saying to BE-Sable to lift there game it was a go at her or him but a need for the anti cheat to go a step up.

And as to Her or Him asking about who is active in the cheat world,there are sites that are making well in excess of 3mill or more the lowest would be half a million easy...                                                                                 1 was done for cc fraud and 1 other has been done for drugs(not light stuff either)

He is now inside a cell with a big bloke called Bubba....

These where 2 different sites mind you.
