Shomet 0 Posted June 27, 2012 -Try to have a appointed gun type to each person so you arnt fighting over ammo-Pointmen with stealthy weapons while going into a zone with zombies or with guns when going into pvp areas-Be able to trust your team mates and not just random people-Share food/water that you have found, stick together but not to close incase of bandits.just for some basics of a group to help it be more effective. Survivor666 5 Posted June 27, 2012 Best tip is, have only friends in your squad so you know 100% sure that they are trustable!~TS666
paecmaker 0 Posted June 27, 2012 If you are more people I would probably have two or more guys flanking the actual squad to make sure there are no bandits stalking you.Always keep an eye out for enemies.Make sure you can trust the squads and that you got free fields of fire, its easy to get hit by friendly fire in the heat of battle.Use different weapons so you can adapt to different situations. miragexl 33 Posted June 27, 2012 Trust tests. Store all decent gear in a tent before meeting a new squad (carry like a winchester)Go with them and pretend you found something rare; if they shoot you then you know they are scum.Otherwise it's understanding what everyone means at one point and being calm, Example me and my friend were in the middle of a town near NW airfield were a fleet of cars pull up with around 10 survivors, We didn't shoot one of them but sneaked around for a while using abbreviations that we made up to make things short and snappy then we ran off in one of there cars undetected.I've never once shot to kill. Wonkavator 1 Posted June 27, 2012 We usually have one or two snipers in our group just in case.We don't always do this, but it definitely helps to have someone who can aim a crossbow well to take out pesky zombies without alerting half the town with a gun.Although it's just as easy to one-shot 5-6 zombies with a M1911 I guess... WalkerDown (DayZ) 296 Posted June 27, 2012 Friends only, with 6 guys (or better more) you'll be invicible: you don't have to care to die, because minutes after you have another mil weapon from your group. You can collect vehicles and then scount the map looting everything and (literally) do piles of items to share with the others when they dies.Remember: when you play with a squad you shouldn't concentrate on "survive", because you will die, even a noob with a makarov may kills you; the way to win is to have your gear ready after you respawn!Basically each time you die you don't have to care to collect all the stuff.. because it's already there, provided by your squad.. then can also "collect" you at the respawn point using the vehicles. ;)
naizarak 41 Posted June 27, 2012 don't team up with randoms, play with trusted peopleeach person should have a designated role - zombie killer, sniper, etc.divide weapons per class and don't fight over guns/ammocome up with a general "assault" strategy. we like to have 1 person sniping/overwatch, with 2 teams of 2 attacking the objective from different directionsas with guns, designate people to carry certain gear. 1 person carries car parts, another is ammo, another is medic, etc. saves time when going through loot because everyone already knows what they're going to carry. don't waste time splitting loot amongst yourselves. adanteh 2 Posted June 27, 2012 What sort of spacing would you guys recommend? Travelling around on different terrain (Forest or open fields) and moving in cities or lets say NW. One tip: Have a lookout when raiding. When we go to NW we always have a sniper lookout on the other side of the airfield. He won't really protect us from snipers (You can never really protect yourself against those at NW), but he can see it easily if there's someone moving around hangars or so. Plus, when someone would be in cover for us, it's a free shot for the sniper. Also, I would recommend setting your face to be something similar. At least wear the same types of glasses so you're more easy to ID.
sr69mm-jc 4 Posted June 27, 2012 as with guns' date=' designate people to carry certain gear. 1 person carries car parts, another is ammo, another is medic, etc. saves time when going through loot because everyone already knows what they're going to carry. don't waste time splitting loot amongst yourselves.[/quote']I completely disagree with this.Say, we recently were playing in a group of 3 people and suddenly got hit by a grenade which got one of us unconscious, badly bleeding and with 1500 blood left. What if this happens to your so-called medic? Probably not going to help you much while unconscious I guess. And if he dies, taking stuff out of his body in the middle of action may be impossible. Things like bloodbags and epi-pens should be shared amongst all of you so anyone could quickly help out an injured person ASAP.Or what if your "car parts carrier" was the only one who could save the day yet he didn't manage to because he's simply playing a role of a big walking backpack? I strongly believe that each of the squadmates has to be equally prepared for fighting, healing, surviving and helping out. On the other hand, spliiting up to have "roles" (sniper for cover, etc) is a good idea of course.
