Does anyone see zombies approaching?

Recommended Posts

Whenever I'm playing DayZ, I'll be running down a field twoards the next town or city to do some looting.

While I'm running down the field however I'm continuously holding alt and looking around me for bandits or zombies etc.. Although I do look ahead as well !

My question is I never see zombies coming I just suddenly hear them and they are right next to me ? Is this something to do with my settings or do I need to be even more observent?

I almost always see them unless its through a building.. maybe your settings are off?

Ensure your OBJECT setting is at or above NORMAL. This helps with objects rendering at distance on your monitor.

Besides that.. maybe its just situational awareness?

I'm the opposite. I see Zombies a mile off, think they're players so I drop 'em and give away my position.

Could be invisible zombies. Yes, they are a confirmed bug, and can happen at any graphic settings.  I normally only hear them, I don't see them.
