cejota14 130 Posted May 4, 2014 Lately, I cannot join any server without getting the yellow chain and expierencing massive lag...and I mean, MASSIVE! I cannot open doors, pick up things, see the player list, see my inventory and when I move I teleport to my old (very old) position a couple of seconds after I move I already checked and it's no my internet, I'm downloading 1.3 Mbps on Steam as usual and I can play all my other games online just fine with regular ping. But this is just ridiculous, does anybody else have the same problem?
Rage VG 4033 Posted May 4, 2014 Only thing I can think of is an antivirus or firewall throttling the program's access to your internet. Try disabling any security programs you have entirely for a temporary period. If that fixes it, we can look into adding your game as an exception so you can keep your computer secure and still enjoy the game. Also, you may want to post what patch you're playing on, Stable or Experimental. If you happen to find the answer to your problem I'd appreciate if you let me know in case someone else ends up having the same issue.

kichilron 8550 Posted May 4, 2014 Do you have a lot of containers on your character, possibly stacked inside each other?

Irish. 4886 Posted May 4, 2014 Try this.. its silly but give it a go. Open dayz. Click change server. Hit refresh after 3 seconds. Now look for lowest ping server you can find. Test. Come back to tell us how it went.

He actually has a point, even if not intended as a legit one but as being a sarcastic captain obvious. if it is an actual problem any server including low ping will do it. After that if you still have problems go to speedtest.net to rule out for sure it is not your internet, then get back to us.

In my case the game stops working and never shows servers until I close dayZ and restart it, websites don't show up and so on. This happens as far as I can tell because of an overload on a failing modem, in my case it seems to be my internal battery dying, which in some modems it can be replaced, in some, not. It SOUNDS like a game issue, however it could be anything causing your internet speed to choke really. A virus, bad modem, running out of memory and not rendering actions as they happen. Without access to your computer and modem there is nothing really I can suggest. I'll get in touch with my tech savy friend and see what he has to say. cejota14 130 Posted May 4, 2014 Guess I'm gonna have to play something else until the next patch (That I hope fix my problem)
Etherious 907 Posted May 4, 2014 (edited) Guess I'm gonna have to play something else until the next patch (That I hope fix my problem)I would suggest too that you wait until the end of May patch. It might solve your problem. ^-^ Edited May 4, 2014 by DJ SGTHornet
cuddly_rabbit 102 Posted May 4, 2014 (edited) Just try again tomorrow.I had this incredible desync, too, and it went away like it had never been there before. Edit: Also... you might hate the answer, it also stopped once when the character died.Don't ask me why, though. But I swear, after respawning, everything was alright again. :( Edited May 4, 2014 by cuddly_rabbit
Shockpuppet 35 Posted May 4, 2014 This happens to me sometimes, a modem restart fixes it for me.
Psymon (DayZ) 1 Posted May 4, 2014 Guess I'm gonna have to play something else until the next patch (That I hope fix my problem)I don't suggest that... I suggest you find the problem... Because its Far Far far more likely that its your router causing the problem.. I find that If I refresh my server list 3-4 times my router goes nuts... I would suggest you look for the ports to forward, disable your anti-virus (NOT AUTHORIZE, Because this fails to work more often then it works) Check your router for a firmware update or upgrade your router.. If your playing on Wi-Fi.. Stop.. Dayz/Arma2 has a lot of weird things it does to routers.. Google it.. and try every router fix you can.. Rather then wait to find out you waited for no reason.. Its may take a few hours, and nobody will do it for you...

Ghostflux 100 Posted May 4, 2014 (edited) The newest patch has introduced this very issue for me as well. Note that no other game, even games that flood my router for requests produce similar issues. My downloadrate isn't affected either. One weird thing about it is that while I am having trouble receiving packets, I have no problem sending them. My friend can see what I do ingame perfectly at all times. The question here is, why would something like a firewall or router interfere where it previously did not or atleast in a radically different way? I though the whole purpose of the guaranteed messaging system was to reduce the amount of information sent between client and server. So the router being flooded even worse than before doesn't make much sense to me. A router issue is possible I suppose, because for some reason whenever this happens, and I leave a server. All the servers in the list are atleast 100 ping higher than they normally are for a short period of time. If you're wondering about my connection: 90/9 Mbit cable. Good Greef 29 Posted May 5, 2014 Also, you may want to post what patch you're playing on, Stable or Experimental. Experimental servers are up? Thought they were down.
Rage VG 4033 Posted May 5, 2014 Experimental servers are up? Thought they were down.We don't know if they were having this issue when they were up and just posting it now or not, but it always helps to include that information.
