Mentioned before but is still important.

As the game is loading in, your character should not be visible or even exist at all until you can physically move your character. Nor should you see anything until you are completely loaded in. If the server resets while I am traveling, I shouldn't spawn in front of a zombie getting beat to death when I can't even react to it. Or even the other extreme which is spawning when someone is nearby and being killed instantly without even seeing anything.

Also as a point to the last sentence, I miss having a sound for spawning in. I didn't like the loud one before, but there should definitely be some minor noise that only players very close by can hear just so someone can't ghost next to you and kill you

If this happens just join another server get to a safe place and rejoin the original server. Although it is not ideal it is the only way to deal with people spawning behind you and killing you after you have just cleared a room etc. People would just log out in the most high traffic areas with no penalty whatsoever,  So no to this idea sorry.

Absolutely agree and they will introduce it back into the game. It not working is just a bug.

I thought they said under "fixes" players no longer make reload sfx when loading in - or something along those lines

- I thought I noticed a sound (broken bone sound), from a friend logging in the other night though

It isn't about logging out somewhere safe, because that varies. and even logging in somewhere dangerous is fine if that's what someone wants to do but I mean the fact that as you're spawning in you are helpless and visible to others even though you yourself can't do anything. That is the problem. The loading in sound should be the penalty

And yeah the sound was definitely removed, hopefully they add something back

And the answer is still NO, a loading sound is not a good enough deterrent it needs to be coupled with not being able to move. As said if you get kicked somewhere "DANGEROUS" go to a low pop server and move to a safer place. Pretty damn simple really.

I'd like to see a spawn button (attached to a "pop-up" server welcome message over a black/default screen) added to the workflow, as I think this would satisfy your first point. This means that you would select and connect to a server, and once the client has loaded in you would be presented with a window & button to spawn into the game, rather than loading you straight in. If you don't click the button to spawn in, the server will disconnect you after X seconds.

This is really just a quality of life thing; It makes it possible for players to do real-life stuff whilst the client loads/connects, and avoids any initial lag/latency when first connecting to the server by adding a grace/buffer period to the spawn mechanic: I can now load the game, click connect and go and pour myself a glass of water without fear that I'll be shot when I spawn as I directly control when I spawn into the server.

But why not? I still don't understand why you think its ok to be able to spawn in and see through walls while everything is loading in but not be able to move anywhere or do anything. The screen should just stay black. I seriously should have to join a different server, wait 600 seconds to get in to move somewhere safe and then 600 more seconds to go back where I was playing?

Perfect idea.
