So how do pronounce it?Ever since I've seen some british guys insistently kept on calling it "day-zed" I've been wondering.

RPS: Are we calling it “day-zee” or “Day Zed”?

Hall: Day-zee, we went with – I actually think the name is terrible, and I came up with it. It was really just a working name originally, but it started as a working name and now it has stuck. It’s grown on me as someone came up with a new logo and so on. So perhaps it’s not too bad.

I pronounce it Day-Zee even though in Canada we're supposed to say Zed. When I showed it to some friends of mine they thought it was pronounced simply Days, like Days of Our Lives or something.

The lad Dean Hall pronounces it  "Die-Zay".

I've seen him do it. Heard him.

I pronounce Z as zed, but DayZ as Day Zee. Day Zed just sounds wrong to me, while it'd be logical to pronounce it that way

Die-Z. Daisy. Day-Zed. Days. Multiple ways to say it. None of them are correct.

It's Arma 2-DayZ mod Standalone.

Daisy, Daisy, give me you answer true.
I'm half crazy all for the love of you.
It won't be a stylish marriage.
I can't afford a carriage.
But you'll look sweet.
Upon the seat.
Of a bicycle built for two.

 Bikes when!?!

Even if you live in a place where where Z is "zed" it would technically be "Day Zee", as that is the name given to it by the creators. Either way, who cares what you call it. ;P

I still thing DayZ is a shitty name for this. It's only implied what it's indicative of. Or we had to assume for ourselves (Day of the Zombies, Day Zero, etc). Either way, I still like this game despite its rather silly name.

My ancestors fought a war so I wouldn't have to say zed or ride a lift.

Day Zee all day.

I still maintain that us over here in the colonies speak English in the most correct manner that exists today, as opposed to those guttersnipes across the pond.

LOL wut?

Just a subtle jab at our Commonwealth cousins.

Really, is pronounced... reel-ee. That is what it is, just phonetically, that is how it's pronounced.

Not REAL-EHHH, as some kinda' grubby Midlands (used to live there) cowgirl would say.

In other news, I'm sure some folks in the UK could tear apart most accents coming out of Dixie these days.

When I just talk about it with someone who knows it, I call it day-zee. But when I explain the game to someone who doesn't know it yet, I say "day-zee, or day-zed, depending how you want to say it,...". I think of it as some sort of inside-joke; when someone who doesn't know it listens to me talking about the game he probably thinks: "daisy, zombies, survival? Da-hell is he talking about?!"

Irritating strangers ftw!!

I'm English so I say 'Zed' but I say Day Zee because it sounds better than Day Zed tbh.
