Deathlove 2286 Posted April 27, 2014 I like the idea of gun shops. But there should not be too many. Maybe three around the map and to be found in major citys. This way not only the (re)spawning mechanism but also the scavenging players will balance the loot. It would also make for an interesting and wide loot selection. The gun shop may only spawn a lousy shotgun and some ammo for a different gun one day. But another time it might prove to be a true gold mine with several guns and plenty ammo... Rarer and more exotic weapons could also be found there without hurting anyones immersion. Maybe there could be a more fancy gun shop, for example in cherno, that deals in luxury, high end and "tacticool" guns.I think they should ALSO be further inland and away from main city coast locations. Possible small towns you might NEVER think to look to. Also like maybe 2 at the most since the loot might be very good. Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

Chaingunfighter 917 Posted April 28, 2014 (edited) NoFirst off there are no gun stores on or near "the map", I'm talking about the real life area the map is based on, you have to drive 40 miles to Prague to find the nearest one.Second it's pointless including a gun store if it doesn't spawn guns with great frequency, and if it does regularly spawn guns people will server hop, camp, and wait outside it while every new spawn comes a-running.Third it gives yet another excuse to add any random firearm under the sun instead of coming up with a decent local list.They're doing that anyway. Don't think there's anything that can be done about it, save for completely removing all of the out-of-place guns, but that would be just as pointless as adding them in the first place. a gun-shop for loot-location? C0bbler 17 Posted April 28, 2014 Perhaps some locations were where the military made a final stand or where civilians made their final stand so finding some weapons at these locations wouldn't be that far fetched.Final stand buildings would be another nice addition. A generic looking house but with sandbags, barbed wire, etc. And a great place to put some of the weapon drops. Variety and a little piece of environmental story telling. This would do nothing, but remove the need to search any other building tbh.We already see this trend with the military areas, since people run directly from the beach to these places to get guns, before they even start to find food or anything.A building like this would make that trend even worse, giving people even less reason to loot residential houses. No thanks. I disagree. Buildings should spawn items that make sense for the building. The way you balance that is to tune the frequency of the loot respawns. So if you go to someplace like Balota that is in a high traffic area, chances are the only thing left will be some old berets and camo pants. All the weapons and ammo will be swept up pretty quickly.
