What would you KoS?

Hey guys,

 

I'm just putting up this poll because I'm a curious fellow and I just like to gather data and see what other's views are. Obviously if none of the above don't apply to you (you don't KoS at all) then don't mark. If I missed something I left the Other option available for your own input! I'm also presuming here that when they have a gun, that it is not out but merely on their back. The person (of any option) is just jogging down the cost just looking for other people and you come by these 6 guys at different times. How would you react? What would you do if you two were to 'cross-paths' so to speak as you were going up the coast?

Depends on what I want to do ingame. If I need to find stuff and I see a fully geared player - he is my target now, if not I would maybe come to him and say "Hi". If I am fully geared, I would go and search for players, then I will decide what to do because I have to know first if others would kill me or maybe they are friendly.

 

Sometimes I just want to be in a nice PvP, sometimes I want to jerk around.

 

You should add "Everyone"; "Depends on situation"

This is another flawed poll, because there is no option to not KOS (The 'other'-option does not cover it. It is asking for what other reason would you kill).

 

That is my stance by the way. I never KOS. Never.  If I see geared players that I don't know or players that are obviously bandits (not the same thing as KOS:er), I just tend to keep my distance.

I try not to KOS at all unless I feel threatened by someone with a pistol or primary weapon. If a player only has a melee weapon I will usually just run away or offer help, if he keeps following me I will shoot after a warning.

That's just about an insta-KoS, even from someone such as myself that doesn't normally do it. There's an almost knee-jerk reaction to seeing one xD

Simple, I had done this primarily for the KoS'ers perspective, that's what I'm curious about. The Non-KoS stance is pretty straightforward, they just don't do it. That's not what I want to know because that's my general view, I hardly ever KoS unless I'm pretty certain I'm in danger. That's the reason why I didn't add the "Not to KoS" option.

I usually don't KOS but if I'm new spawn with no food, then I see somebody with something on his shoulder I can try to got it (no need to kill him all the time, just punch inconscious and rob his stuff). If I'm in a hot spot and someone come with weapon I will kill him with no second thought, better him than me...

I avoid everyone, so I clicked other, because the only time I do KOS, it's for one of two reasons:

 

1.) We see eachother at the same time and I open fire first, surprised.

 

2.) I witness a complete asshole murder and voluntarily shoot a man for it.

Normally I'll only KoS clown masks. Don't care how geared they are, clown masks seem to bring out the inner creeper in everyone.

Depends what Im doing, clown masks is a KoS pretty much, got into a firefight with one last night, we both survived I think (at least I did before server restart)

I won't kill anyone if I feel like they're not a threat to me. I'll probably have fun just following them and see what they're doing. If I feel like it, I'll shoot them though. No reasoning with KoS, I will shoot whatever I want, when I want. This game has no rules, so it's pretty dumb that people get upset when you kill them on sight, as if you should obey certain rules on a lawless wasteland. Ridiculous :)

Well, the main example situation I put forward was that you are going down the coast and you see one of each of these dudes coming to you at different points in time. Though instead of KO-ing him, why not try to ask for help? It's kinda hard to die of starvation anyhow...

Well, it's not 'rules' as much of a 'personal code' one could go by to see when they deem someone to be a threat enough to actually go forward and murder someone without them knowing of your presence. So it seems like as if you KoS anyone, when the feeling to do so just gets to you I guess?

I'm just asking the community who participate in the KoS activity a fair bit, if not primarily, to just give me some insight as to what types of characters are they more likely to kill than others. If it was a whine thread, sure I'd understand but I'm legitimately just curious.

The only people I tend to kill on site are the people who are camping on top of, or in main buildings. These are the guys who usually shoot me on site so I return the favour. Also people at military bases, and airfields. Purely because if they are there, they are competition for good loot.

I've been through that, so I feel your pain. Personally, I do it primarily to counter-snipe others who try to do it when I bother to do so. With regards to milbases, people are far more trigger happy so don't blame you much.
