Ever had a positive experience with hackers?

So I was talking with a mate the other day and we got onto something that happened in our early days of the mod.

It was night and we were heading into Elektro from the west. We noticed the place was lit with flares everywhere and was naturally cautious. We'd pulled a load of zombies and got separated. I was out of ammo and ran into the little shop bit by the petrol station. I tried getting out the back door but it wouldn't open, I was trapped...and then zombies ran in. I took a few hits trapped in a corner, then a man with a ghillie suit and SAW looking LMG runs in. He gets "Get down now" and then sprays at head height. He kills the zombies then tells me to follow him. I was bleeding but wasn't about to question him so went along. He took me to my mate who he rescued from his zombies. He fixed us up, we thanked him and he said he was going off, so we said our goodbyes. We carried on into elektro and saw him again about a minute later, on the hill to the NW of elektro going mad with his SAW. Hordes of zombies were running at him and he destroyed them all.

We were loving this, we had been playing for a few weeks and this was the craziest moment so far. We kept going, figured him pulling the zombies would act as a good distraction so we could loot. We were searching the school and he started talking to us again. He said he'd left something for us downstairs. We were greeted to 2 suppressed pistols. We'd never been near anything like that, so we instantly got wet and thanked him again for it. We then went into the supermarket and he said he had something else for us outside. We were greeted to 2 suppressed M4s, ammo and a quad bike. This was our first real taste of good military gear and we, again got wet and thanked him. He said he was leaving and we said we were going to go for a ride on our first ever vehicle.

We thought we were the dons. Big pimps, ready to go. My mate drove us for about 5 minutes or so north and we got to a town. There was a little bit of concrete sticking out of the road, we got stuck and blew up. Dead!

My point is, looking back this guy was using scripts etc to spawn stuff for us. He gave us a great experience before (It was a hell of a light show, baring in mind it was dark), then gave us really good gear to top it off. He played with us a little but didn't seek to hurt us. It's my only experience of this being done in a positive way, and was wondering if I was alone in this?

Hackers are hackers.... theres no good or bad...

 

Manipulating a game is not acceptable. reporting him is the only right way.

I met a hacker the other day in Berezino on a 100 player server.

I had just made a big group of people, until everyone were dying from nothing in the group, they just fell to the ground. Turns out someone was killing us with an axe while invisible. He killed me aswell

In the mod, I had asked over side chat if anyone could come kill me, because I had broken my legs in the middle of nowhere, as I was trying to killmyself by falling off some scaffolding a man appeared. I asked in direct chat "Uh, man you were not here a second ago.. " the response I got was just logged in.

So I asked him if he had any morphine. He said he did, and out of nowhere a medical box spawns.. thinking to myself I was like da fuq yo? Where did that come from. I patched myself up and started talking to the guy, and it turns out he was a hacker. He wrote his own scripts and didn't like being a dick to people with his hacks, prefering just to mess with them in a fun way for both of them.

I took my morphine and he dropped me some soldier clothing and food. He was going to give me a weapon, but it didn't feel right taking it.

He then proceeding to spawn a tank and started ramping it over some hills that were nearby. 

 

Only time i've met a hacker that wasn't a doucher.

Actually, I called on him one other time when the server I was playing on was getting nuked and raided by an annyoing hacker. He then proceeded to counterhack the doucher and managed to get him perm kicked from the server using some scripts. He then proceeded to log off, and told me if I encounter any doucher scripters to let him know.

Never had a positive experience with hackers in the mod or SA. Infact I barely met any hackers in the mod beside the server nukes. guess I am lucky

It sounds like a "good DayZ hacker" is like an old school D&D "dungeon master" who guides you in a story, versus trolling the server with dancing scripts.  I have yet to encounter this.

yeah, reading their tears in the forums when they get banned is pretty positive, I enjoy global ban messages from battle eye in game as well, it has to be said.  All very positive.
