[Outcasts]Massacre

Anybody know what this is?

Recommended Posts

So, me and my bro were killing people around the NEAF when we ran into a group of people, we spotted them because they were doing rather odd stuff..

Like shooting around at stuff we couldn't see, we figured ghosts or some form of psychosis, so naturally we decided to end their suffering...

A few well placed sniper shots later they were down and we went to investigate, wondering what it was that had them so spooked, and that is when we found this

Did we just accidentally a hacker?

Ps, I'm refering to the vicinity tab, look next to the 60 round mag.

It's a glitched infinite ammo.

Don't pick it up, or you'll have a high risk of getting globally banned.

With that aside, nice gear! :)

Dump it in the ocean.

Oops, we just left it there, :(  it was out in the field north of the NEAF so not to obvious.

We figured a server restart would take care of it..

This brings up a big concern for me. New players to the game such as myself won't know what is and isn't unusual for the game. It is entirely possible for us to pick up some hacked item we don't realize isn't supposed to be part of the game and get ourselves banned. I hope there is some way that the system tags when something didn't originate from the player or there could end up being a lot of innocent newbies getting banned.

Edit to add: Obvious infinite ammo and the like is one thing, but otherwise normal seeming gear is what I am referring to.

Very true. However I highly doubt it would affect someone who picked it up

I bet it would.. I'm sure it searches inventories, and if it finds that, then you're marked.

And in this case the bully was shooting another bully with infinite ammo...

But hey, maybe you should tell the nanny that theres people shooting other people in your imaginary zombie Apocalyps game...

That is completely untrue. Battle Eye NEVER bans for finding something in game, and they even state this to avoid confusion. Anyone who claims they were global banned after picking up an item in game or anything ridiculous like that is just attempting to convince people that he wasn't hacking.

I've seen tons of people complaining that they picked up an item etc etc in-game and got globally banned for "no reason."

Except there's always a reason. Most of the time they come to the DayZ forums and make up that story in an attempt to get unbanned. Something has to happen to your game like an injection of a bypass or scripts being ran because Battleye doesn't even look at the items in your inventory, it looks at how you got them.

The honorable thing to do would be to throw it away but if you want to keep it, keep it. There is no risk of you getting banned as millions of these are in the game at the moment and the person who was using it was not a hacker but managed to come across it somehow.
