Changing the M4 to Burst Fire

I'm pretty sure that we are getting an AKM, not an AK74 or whatever the hell a AK74m is.

 

 

I would like to see changeable stocks (folding version of the wood plz), a suppressor and a red dot be available for the AKM but i could deal with just updated irons.

 

Also the M4 in game is actually an M4A1 so i don't know why you are bitching about it. The "M4" designation is given to it by the community, just like many people call the magnum the "357" or "Python" or the Sporter 22 being called a "10-22" or "Ruger".

 

It may be a valid name, but it isn't what the game calls it.

Two different guns. The AK-74M was "put on hold" as stated by Chris Torchia quite a while ago, but in that same statement he also confirmed that they were actively working on the AKM and SVD.

 

And I'm not bitching about, it I know the game's M4A1 is called as such. (sorry if you weren't referring to me on that one)

I didn't bother to look up the 74 much. All i know is that it is a 5.45x39 version of the AK.

However if the AK74M has been put on hold and the AKM is almost ready then I wonder if they are both going into the game in the same patch.

I wasn't reffering to you but the OP who seems to think that if the Majority call it a "M4" then it must be an M4 not a M4A1. That's like saying a 9mm revolver should be a Semi auto pistol because it is called the "9MM".

I just wanted to make a topic about it. The M4A1 is overused in video games, the M4A1 is only used by special forces. Please change it to an M4 and add the M16

Maybe the weapon came from special forces (if it's from Chernarussians, then it's obviously special forces since their regulars use the AK-74).

 

And also: "All U.S. Army forces will begin replacing their basic M4 carbines and all 600,000 M16 rifles with the M4A1 variant in 2014.... Phase I of the M4 Product Improvement Program (PIP), converting all Army M4s to M4A1s, is to be completed by 2017."

Probably won't be in the same patch, as they have to work on quite a lot of different things including 5.45x39mm ammo vs the 7.62x39mm which is already in the game and works.

Eventually we'll have both, though.

They're already mainly using the M4. 5.56x45mm loses velocity very quickly at the ranges were fighting now (around 500-600m) so the lengthened barrel of the M16 proves rather pointless in the heat of combat. Most of the units already use their 7.62x51mm M240s or M110s/MK14s anyway, whilst using the M4 for shorter distances.
