Map Malfunction?

I just got DayZ... Like i bought it last night. SO... My map will not show up, does it just take forever to load? Or should it pop up fairly quickly? If it is not working should i just redownload the game? Or is it this version? Anyways just give me some advice.

P.s. My computer is not slow at all so its not that.

Did you drag your map to the hotbar and then press the button it's assigned to? (e.g. 1, 2, 3 etc.)?

 

It does take a while to load sometimes. Make sure not to keep hammering the button, once should be fine. Then wait a few seconds.

You must first find maps ingame as loot item. Then you can press M button to see Chernarus
