4/20 Event this weekend ($10to$20 prize.) Assassinate the target & get the code.

Trying an idea for an Event.  It is still pending to be a for sure thing

It will be on a public Hardcore server, The server owner (If around) will post a MOTD to make anyone who joins the server aware of the situation, They may join in the hunt if they wish.  - The server used will NOT be disclosed until Event day.  But feel free to set yourself up in positions before hand.

  Come fully geared and Attempt to ambush me where you feel is best. But whoever manages to recover the code safely is the winner.  It's quite regardless who killed me.  Team up with anyone you wish and betray them whenever you like, because remember... There is only 1 winner.

IF I'm killed you will still have to eliminate my guards, They will stand guard for 30 minutes near the body without touching the code.  IF nobody has reached the code in 30 minutes,  My team will grab the code and Evac out, Saving the code for another event.

IF this event continues up until the point of a server restart, Everyone will just rejoin ASAP and continue forth.



I'm currently fishing for Participants.  Having me already added to Steam friends will assure IF you acquire the code, You can redeem it promptly before you get killed and it is stolen from you..

Possible date of Event will be April 20, Beginning @ 4:20pm  Pacific time.

IF I GET ENOUGH PARTICIPANTS I WILL BUMP THE PRIZE TO $20, I would like to see 10+ people for that.


Active community members, Youtubers, & Twitch broadcasters get slight priority for entry should I get too many people.

This is a pilot Event, So I based it near the coast. Other events will be based inland, In more interesting areas.

Should the player have to take the code somewhere in game to redeem it IF I'm killed??  ie; within my destination circle. Kamy ect.
That would give other players the chance to kill someone with the code before they redeem it.

They could just ghost to Kamy after killing you and taking it. Your guards will have to try and make sure that anyone who tries to redeem it has to have come from outside the town... but then again, they could just ghost to the woods on the hill after waiting till the timer is nearly up. Difficult  :huh:

I used to partake in it myself, and am an avid listener of ganja reggae (not that it matters)! Most of my friends are former marijuana enthusiasts! I no longer have a desire to smoke largely due to my future job prospects, and my friends are all in the military, so self-explanatory there.

 

I totally get where you're coming from, my grievance is solely with the people you mention... who do it just to seem cool.

Glad to hear we have a few people interested,  Come the end there might be 10+ people after me.  Bare with me as I'm hoping this all works out, We're not %100 a go yet.  Things are going good for a 1st event though.

To clarify, Yes the code word will be on my character, Written on a piece of paper.  Read that code and message it to me on steam.  1st person to do that wins.


Anyone interested:  Message me your Steam ID in Forum or add "Gordon Freeman" so we're friends before the event. It will make it easier to get me the code word faster.


Exact server IP and name will be given at 4:10pm PACIFIC time, Sunday in this thread.  Also IF you've already added me to Steam friends you can join once I appear to be online and in a server!

I miss the old patrol base days where local goat meat and lovely afghan hash are easy to get hold of. The beards, vests, patrolling in shorts - the perks of being an infanteer on tour far away from the REMF's at bastion!!!

I tried playing dayz the other day high. I done it in the mod and it was fine. Even helped me take better shots since I wasn't twitching my hand in excitement of blowing someone apart. In the standalone however its fucking terrifying. The random zombie yells and assorted noises that play in forests due to the bug make me jump and instantly look around everywhere.

When possible the Guards will put MY backpack containing the Code on the ground, Should I die. So it will not despawn.
