Day And Night, Night and Day.

I'm going to suggest this before the server-side day/night cycle option is available to server owners.

 

Night time in DayZ is the greatest thing since sliced bread. Unfortunately nobody likes to play on servers where it's night time because they're either afraid of the dark, don't like using flashlights, babies, scared, or prefer "24-7 100% dey evertim" servers because there's more people on them.

 

I think that EVERY server should have the SAME day/night cycle at the SAME time as every other server. So say it's night time on one server, EVERY other server will be night time as well. There should be no such thing as thumb-sucking "24/7 Day" servers.

 

The server owners out there who object to this, or own a "24/7 day server" should really rethink owning a server, because it's pointless playing a game with a day and night cycle, just to turn it off because some babies can't handle the dark. Night time adds a drastic number to the Horror/Thriller part of the game which should be emphasized a lot more than, say, payday masks.

Yeah totally,all 24/7 day servers should become extinct.

But,granted that the night time is improved extensively by the dev team.

I really don't like 24/7 daytime servers, so I never join them.

 

It is then I realize... All servers (The majority) ARE 24/7 daytime even if it doesn't say it in the server browser. It will start at 12:00, go to about 16:00, then restart and go back to 12:00.

Experiencing dawn or dusk is one of the coolest things in this game and I definitely want to play night time, I just hope it'll be like in the mod with time zones and so on.

What an absolutely stupid idea. So they set to say... Russian time and now because I live in Australia every time I play its dark and I never see the sun? Or do you mean all the servers in each country? Cause if that's the case then you should specify that.

 

Secondly, I hate the dark, well because it's dark and I can't see shit. I am not going o turn gamma up because well that defeats the whole point of playing in the dark.

 

In a "real" zombie apocalypse LOL! Guess what I would be doing at night time? The same thing I do when there isn't an apocalypse, SLEEP!

I never said night time would be as long as it is in the real world.

I was playing on the experimental.It was night time and had my flashlight equiped.

I saw a zombie charging full speed ahead trying to chew on my panties.

Needless to say,when i changed to my meele,the flashlight was unholstered,and

i couldn't see jack sh*t.I was frantically attacking on a circle blind in hopes i get a hit on it.

It cost me almost all my blood.All this could have been avoided if night was a little brighter on my proximity

or the player didn't turn off the flashlight while attacking with melee.(I really don't want to cheat nightime by tweaking the settings)

you can go to experimental servers. They have en enabled day/night cycle wich is I think 40 or 64 times faster.

 

I really like the idea in general as night should be an inevitable factor in a survival game. However, I think this should be for hardcore servers only. And they have to improve the night as for now you are literally helpless when you don`t use game settings. The problem is, visual sense is the only sense which works in a video game nearly as good as for a real person. That makes it very difficult to play when the light is gone.
