"Failed to load profile. You character have been resetted"

Greetings everyone. Something very very awful just happened to me, search function didn't help much so I am asking you guys if this happened to you before.

Basically, I was playing on a server, I reached Svetloriask following the railroad from west and suddenly the server stopped reponding. Well, more than else, everything stopped "happening". I couldn't open doors (wasn't even coming out the open door symbol thingy), swap weapons or do anything. Internet was just fine, so I DCd and tried joining another server.

 

I picked a DE server something with a name at the end. 3 people, because I wanted to check my position and status before joining a more populated one. I was in the woods nearby, able to move and everything was ok. I took a few steps and I got kicked by the administrator. Saved the server IP for a report later, but that's beyond the point.

 

I then decided to join a server with more or less 15 people, one of the "basic" servers. Had a waiting time of 300 seconds because of the kick, so I waited patiently.

It remained stuck on "please wait" for a minute, then, a big, mean, flaming red sentence appeared in the bottom left corner, that said something like this "Unable to load profile. You character have been resetted and an administrator have been noticed. Please join another server to continue"

 

I joined another server. Nothing. Char reset. Tears flowing.

I point my accusation finger to my gear at the time. More than everything else, to the 8 yellow cases and 4 ammo boxes I had in my backpack, stored in conveniently organized blocks. A caseception.

 

Anyone knows what happened? And, just out of curiosity, what are administrators been warned of?

same thing happened yesterday in the evening to me. stuck in please wait and the same text in red. i just rejoined the server and still got my geared char.

This same thing happened to a friend of mine, he joined after he dropped connection, and then he panicked when it said his character was reset. Still though he sat the 300 seconds and spawned in just fine, I thought it was odd, but hey, a much better outcome than a reset. Sorry to hear your loses man, that same friend of mine has a lot of character reset issues, and I've hit them a few times. It gets really annoying, but maybe with persistent objects being added soon we can easily keep a stock hidden away on a server to lessen this effect.

I have been searching and can't find an answer, as I'm having a similar problem. My character loads once each night which ever server I pick he loads the first time but then if I try to switch servers or even if that server restarts I get the failed to load character message and get wiped. This is the second night in a row now so I'm wondering if anyone else has similar problems? I'm logging out away from everyone and typically I'm trying to join servers that aren't packed.

It happens every now and then to me. It hasn't happened in a long while as I've stuck to the same half a dozen servers for the past couple of months. Your best bet is to do the same. =)

This happened to me this evening, same warning text etc. After logging into a diff server, I was a fresh spawn again. 

 

At that point I decided to leave playing for a couple hours, then later on when I rejoined a new server, I had all my gear back - despite the title screen showing a fresh toon

I believe it happens when you get killed while in combatlog mode, not sure though.

Just filter servers hosted by vilayer, gameservers, and other reliable hosts, this happens when you join some f*cked up private server

I'm honestly not trying to be a smart-arse, here. Just wanted to make that clear before I talk about grammar!

 

If the message you received said what you quoted, word-for-word, then I think a server admin has fucked with you somehow.

 

Because of this:

"Your character have been resetted" is very badly composed English. If that is a direct, word-for-word quote, then I find it very unlikely that it came from an official source like BattleEye - they are professionals, and they wouldn't put a sentence like that in their product.

 

I realise these things aren't always easy to spot for non-native speakers, and the grammar isn't always perfect in the genuine in-game messages, either, but knowing your verb conjugations can actually give you a clue as to the authenticity of things like this, sometimes!

last night on stable hardcore i couldnt interact, and would get kicked after a minute by the server. had to join about 5 servers which took a long time! and run away from location, and then i was able to pick something up, and then  was back to normal.

later same happened again, logged into 1 server and it loaded an old character, few more server joins, and it was ok again, didnt get much gaming done, was kinda an annoying night haha.

 

anyway ill gues its something thats happening to a lot of people at the moment, for whatever reason
