Biggest blunder you have made in game

Just want to get a collection of the "WTF did I just do" moments from you all.  I have been deeply engrossed in work for a month, and have had 0 hours of playtime.  I was sitting on my first Sunday off in a month and fired up DayZ....  heart was pounding, excitement building....  got onto my first server and remembered I was quite near the shipwreck when I last logged off.  So I headed off to the ship to see if I could find some gear as I was just carrying a can of spaghetti and a hammer.

 

So I get to the ship and make my way up to the upper decks, and browse around the wheelhouse and the rooms near by.  I manage to locate a pitchfork (which is a big upgrade over my hammer) and I pick it up.  As I go to walk out of the room a guy comes around the corner decked out in full military gear and brandishing an M4.I had my mic muted and I was like "Damn!!! I need to let him know I am friendly...  I then recall.. "Hey I can put up a hand and show I am a nice guy and all is well"  I reach over and promptly hit the "1" key.....

 

 

BLAM BLAM BLAM BLAM BLAM!!!!  Followed by "Try to stab me motherf@#$@!!!"

 

I slip my headphones off, set them down on the desk and just shake my head.

 

ARGH!!!!!  Felt like such a dumbass lol..  one of my coworkers plays as well and I told him the story the next morning and I have never seen him laugh quite so hard before.

 

So lets here your biggest or best "WTF was I doing!!!" moments :)

In the mod I changed seats from the co-pilots seat to one of the back seats in the Mi-17 before.... That was a bad day. Glitchy is as glitchy does.... 

For some reason the pilot no longer had control after I switched seats and we all went down with it. There was 4 or 5 of us on board. I was the only one who survived but was in a permantently unconscious state (coma?) .

Was on the western border of the map as well past Mishkino. Can still remember it. Oh how we laughed....

went to NWAF tents the other day, had 4 rags for bandages. After the 6th zed attack, i had to abandon the place and run for it. Got to the entrance of the firestation before falling over unconscious. Next time, two stacks of bandages. Too many stealth zombies to carry just a few. Of course, if I could rip up my better shirts I would have used that for bandages, but no, we aren't there yet.

Rubber banded between a tree and a hill where I couldn't move, I tried to walk or crouch to get out of it then the game FLINGS me across the map through one of the trees in front of me and I run face first at full speed into another to see "you are dead" as my face impacts with the trunk. one of those times I just stared for a good 30 seconds before almost wetting myself laughing.

Biggest blunder in SA was whilst in a gunfight at the tents end of the NWAF, I climbed one of those small metal watchtower things and crouched to get a safe shot on the people we were fighting with.

 

After the fight seemd to be done and only me and one other guy on my side were left, and the others were either dead or scared off I for some reason hit the key to go prone. In the little tower thing.

Of course this didn't go very well for me and as soon as I tried to move I fell through the tower and splattered on the floor. Fail.

Axed the crap out of an innocent (but geared. Splitter axe and pack at least :( ) player that ran right past a room I was in and spooked me in one of those two story corner cafe/apartment buildings on a hardcore experimental server. The guy was managing his inventory, I think checking the quality of his pack with one that was on the bed, he didn't know what hit him. I turned the corner after the murder to see where he had set up a gas stove and cookpot that was steaming away and immediately felt 10x worse about killing him. I fled after a failed attempt to loot his body, it had glitched into the bed and I didn't want to stick around because I felt like a murderous bastard.

 

I came back to the scene of the crime a few minutes later after I gained some courage and curiosity, only to be almost axed by someone that picked up the dead guy's splitter axe (confirmed this after going back to the room with the body in it and seeing a shovel on the ground that wasn't there before). I got lucky and ended up breaking his legs with my fireaxe, ending hostilities. I apologized for killing his friend (all in text chat, which it seems no one uses...), if that was his friend. He didn't try to kill me, though he was silent. Luckily there was some wooden sticks in another room, where I had dropped them in a panic after seeing the first guy run past me oblivious to my presence. I told my failed killer where they were, and left the building after exchanging a few waves, unsure if he even understood what I was saying.

 

So I spend the next five minutes or so wandering around Svetlo (which is where I spawned, weirdly enough), found an SKS and rounds and more food than I could use. I decided to see if that guy had found the sticks or not. I get to the second floor, no sign of the player or the sticks so I heaved a sigh of relief and headed back down. Next thing I know, I get hit, turn and see a freshspawn with a  fire extinguisher, my axe still on my back. One more hit and boom, unconcious, ten seconds later You Are Dead.

 

TL:DR, Don't ever return to the scene of a crime. You may get lucky, but eventually it *will* run out.

 

Also, if you're any of the people involved in this, thanks. It was the most fun I've had playing. Sorry for the first guy though, I was scared and felt empowered since I had such a drop on you I guess, after being KoS'd so many times I was sure you would too. Which I guess we'll never know. Really hope you didn't take it too hard if you were a friendly player :blush:

I just got a m4a1 and lots of military gear and i decided to loot the jail by a radio tower. I get to the top floor and i stand next to the beds and i noticed that my guy was getting thirsty. So i start drinking a coke. My guy put away his weapon and glitched through the second story wall. I just watched in horror as he fell to his death while drinking a coke.
