What is the safest way to give items to others without it glitching and disappearing?

this isn't safe at all. with 1.7.1.5 i've lost an nvg and a very important blood bag because of people placing items in my backpack and my backpack eating them (when there was plenty of space available.)

safest way is to drop something worthless and then if it's on the ground and you can loot it, dump whatever you want to trade on top of that loot pile.

Weird. My friends and I do this with each other all the time. We're real life friends so we can atleast trust eachother that far. Never had that happen, could be dumb luck tho.

Me and my friends do it also with the "open friends backpack and put it there" way! :D Works perfectly fine for us!

Agreed.

I was with a group of RL friends last night and we were drinking and swapping a single water bottle between us. Unbeknown to to him, I didn't have a spare space in my rucksack and when my mate tried to put the water bottle into my back pack, it disapeared.

Make sure you have the space before you start swapping items in backpacks!!

ye the backpack eats it, if there is no room, sometimes the backpacks bug out and shows -slots. ei. -4/20

So watch the numbers. And also check so that the item fits the number slots thats empty. Some tools take 1 slot in the toolbelt, but alot of slots when in a backpack.

I never use the drop button, unless it's trash.

I use the < arrow in the left inventory window.
