Okay so me and my friend have been talking to get DayZ, but he has no way of getting it from his steam account. So we been talking that he would give me $15 and i pay the rest and I would buy the game off my steam account. We would both download it from my account but he would play it on his account. So the question that arises from this is that if it would let him still play it off his steam account even thou he downloaded it from my steam account. Help would be greatly appreciated

Will not work, its per steam account so one player on at one time using the same steam back and forth.  You can combine funds and gift him the game through steam if you see fit down the road and you both can play.

If he gives you $15 and you pay the rest, you can buy it as a gift and it can be sent to his account (there are steps given to you by Steam if you do so.)

 

When he accepts it, the game would be binded to his account just as if he bought it.

So you only want to buy one copy and share it with your friend. That wasn't very clear in your post.

Your friend would have to log into your account every time he would want to play.

Of course, you couldn't play at the same time then.

Ohh no sorry for any confusion. We just been playing on a cracked version online but we want to get the real game now. I can get the game no problem, its just him that doesnt have a way to pay for it online. I told him he could get steam cards to get it.

Even you want to buy it now you still try to somehow share only one copy on two accounts.

Just buy two on your account, but buy one of them as a gift to your friend. He should give you the money then.
