Spawns On The East, Bet Everyone Thought It Was Stupid...

Recommended Posts

I bet everybody that read this last year thought I was stupid about Spawns on the East Coast but now that it is implemented into DayZ Standalone .I feel very happy and can't wait to die in the Standalone to spawn on the East and try this out.

If you would, for all the people that believe spawning on the East Coast is stupid. Please read all of my posts in my topic.

http://forums.dayzgame.com/index.php?/topic/135116-spawns-on-the-east/

Now, all I want is a little of credit from the devs, lol.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

Still Read My Main Post But Here Are Highlights From The Topic^

1) "No, its not that Berinzino would become Electro it is that Cherno is a huge city and it would be nice to have survival aspects and urban PvP to it.
Then you would HAVE scavange for items after you spawn instead or just going to Cherno or Electro and go to the Firehouses which you spawn right next to you. Because as of right now im not scared to die in Cherno like i should be."

2)"

Middle of the western most woods would be the best place to put spawns I think. Since you would be pretty far from anything; they would have to be pretty far south of NWAF as well. But this would force you to work harder for survival

This makes no sense for multiple reasons.
1) NWAF is just to your Left and Zelen is just next to you.
2) You need gear to spawn by, the east coast has gear but is spread out into towns where nobody goes at the moment.
3) This would be way harder for beginner players. People often forget about the new players when they think of new ideas. The east would be a balance for both experienced and beginners.

I could state more but these are most important. I believe spawning on the east would meet right in the middle when compared to spawning in the west or south. The south has EVERYTHING and the west has close to nothing. The east would challenge players to scavenge but at the same it would be possible to find gear. Also Cherno would be like the NWAF and Stary, by the means it would be a more endgame place because you would have exceptional gear plus it would be actually a risk to enter, unlike its present state."

3) "Ok, so if you going to pull common sense in the equation then shouldn't we be able to spawn all over the map. The reason why I say this is because I will never live in a city and I will always try to live in a rural area. So shouldn't I be able to spawn up north? So if we are going by "common sense" there should be a percentage to be able to spawn way up north. So sorry man.... Your argument is half way invalid.

Another reason for spawning on the east coast is so every part of the map would used and not just hot zones. Most if not all of the cities would be used to scavenge because why not stop at a town/village that is right next to you and the closest to find food and water."

I like this change. However, it only means Svetlo and Berezino are more likely to be PvP clusterfucks... over Cherno and Elektro. Which is fine by me, I am rarely on the coast.

I'd've rather they had spawns on the corners of the coast (i.e. Kamenka and Svetlo) than just the east side, but anything that diversifies the "coast spawn" system is fine by me.

LOL Man I remember that thread. xD Also, what I want is are spawn points all over the map so where you can even spawn in the woods of Green Mountain. I think it would be very fun instead of just coast spawns. Although I do think that it would break the whole coast story that DayZ is built on.

I think that for some people, it's a good idea, but the Devs completely overdid it. I play in a DayZ clan server ( Transcendere Gaming aka. "tG"), and we do all our PvP in Elektro. If I die from a teammate, in a firefight, or a zombie/medical condition, I have to kill myself over and over due to Berezino/three valleys spawns... I finally get an Elektro spawn or a Kamy spawn and I thank the DayZ gods, but Okay :p

They need to stop that crap.

Maybe a 30 minute ban across all servers for self too many self inflicted deaths within a short time.

All of the dead bodies just boogs down the server and makes everyones experience worse.

I agree, they do need to stop the spawning in Solnichniy 80% of the time crap. It sucks, don't it.

Perhaps just removing the fall damage would stop people from suiciding ?

People like to play in groups, and while it doesn't take all that long to run down the coast, it does take a while and there's no guarantee you won't just die on the way.  It's a tricky topic because you do want some challenge, so you can't just let people spawn together, but to ignore the fact that people want to play together but don't want to spend the majority of their play time meeting up in the first place is silly.

So until they figure it out, suiciding for better spawns is what we've got, and making shitty spawns for the current state of the game is just a bad idea.

They really should have waited to change spawns till they had more of the game complete, because right now, I have no reason at all to want to be in 3 valleys, and even solichney when I could be in berezino or svet.  I also have no reason at all to go to the west side of the map.

All this change does is put people in Svet and Berezino instead of Elektro, before that all they did was move people from Balota to Elektro, but at least during that time there were spawns all across the coast.  I thought this is supposed to be MY story, so why are they so determined to dictate my experience by influencing my starting position so strongly.

Did anyone even really care when Balota was such a hot spot?  You either went there for fights/to die or got something out of it, if you died you respawn some where else along the entire coast.  I feel people actually used more of the map before they started pushing everyone east, and I don't see that changing by pushing people even further east.

This entire issue is trying to solve a problem (Balota/spawn tables) in the worst way possible.  Address the source, quit trying to sweep the dirt under the rug.  Or at the very least hold off until the game is more complete, and the spawns actually make more sense.

Why is that so ?

Dayz does not hold your hand in any other way so why should it do so concerning letting players play together ?

Players who wish to meet up should do so like they always had to in the past, hike for some time until they all meet up somewhere.

My solution involves the saying of "tough tits".

Group play shouldn't be anything quicker than it already is. People already have TS to arrange meetings from across the map. Spawns shouldn't be catered to appease clans and group play. Everyone should be on an equal playing field in terms of spawns. Random.

I don't disagree, my point is that as long as you have multiple spawn locations and they are random, people are going to suicide till they get together.  Giving people a timeout for that is a shitty way to curve the behavior.  I'm of the opinion that any system in a game that punishes you by not letting you play at all is a pretty lousy approach though.  Introductions of other methods to meet up would be better, ie Vehicles.

I dunno what you mean by in the past, but since the mod people have always suicided to meet up.

I always loved to spawn on the East coast when it was an uncommon spawn. So much loot, so close to the coast.

Now it is full of fresh spawns, stealing my gubbins.

I haven't died in quite awhile. Been playing smart and you know staying inland and CASUALLY playing on low pop. But i see no issue with this because iv been up and down the coast so many times i have weapons locations memorized if i need them.

Bring back Kamenka ! Those debug forest spawns were the best in the mod..especially at night.

I still think we should switch back to spawning along the whole coast, save for a few Km either side of Balota.

I never did that and will not in the futur. I'm sorry but it's just plain stupid, take a map and go find them. What's the point of having a huge map if everyone is going to spawn and die at the same place?

I think many player think Dayz is just an other pvp games.

How would you feel about a completely randomized spawn system where the spawning is completely dynamic and is everywhere and anywhere inland.

You could spawn in the middle of the north west airfield or in the middle of some remote woods.

Complete randomness of it would prevent or atleast slowdown how fast people can suicide.

Not a fan of the idea. Spawning on the coast has become such a big part of DayZ and I don't really see any reason to change it. Also I like the fact that you're much less likely to encounter fresh spawns up north.

Middle of the woods not knowing what direction you were facing would have been great  :D

Spawning on the coast is detrimental to gameplay and exploration.

Spawning on the coast is the only reason why 90 percent of the population lingers around the coast for pvping.

Randomized spawning might encourage exploring.

Honestly, I think a large number of people people would just run back to the coast anyway. The cities are the best place to play Call of DayZ.
