thinking about getting a private server in the future but

I want to hear from a Dev if were going to be able to give people spawning in different items for example not just having a flash light when you spawn but you get full gear and a m4 ect controlled by the admins of the server or they could maybe spawn in a car or have some sort of control over items that are saved to your server only. If not i'm not going to invest anymore money then my initial purchase.

On separate hives maybe - you won't be able to bring that gear to official servers. It will be restricted to your hive, or even just your server.

These will be less strict as we get closer to release of the game. You will be able to adjust a lot of things once modding is allowed in the game.

I highly recommend you to not rent a Server !!!

- You will have no admin rights at all. you will not be able to control who is gonna Play on your Server ( kick People you dont wanna have on your Server will be not allowed )

- You will have no permission to put a Password on your Server when you doing an Event or something else.

- You pay that you can give the Server i nice title in the Server list - thats all. dont waste your Money.

- You will not be able to restart the Server - for example you just installed a new teamspeak Version or you have Webspace for your Homepage on it.

 

This is not like Hosting a Server in all the other games where you can do what you want on YOUR Server. you will be allowed to Play on it, yes. GREAT

if you hit the restart button , just because you like to, 100% there will be one person who says. "bah you are exploiting your admin rights".

you wanna have a friend on your server which is full. kick a random guy to let your friend join will bring people to say : "bah you are exploiting your admin rights".

 

man i can remember the times where all players wanted to kickvote the admin, he pauses the server and laughs about everybody and then kicked them all. that was funny guys. that was your property.

man you will not even be allowed to save slots for your friends or yourself. and than ( hahaha, thats so bad ) you have to play on another srever. because yours is full and you are not allowed to kick because everybody will defenetly cry : "bah you are exploiting your admin rights".

Tough shit.  I rent a server so not only my friends can play but so can other people.  This is alpha stage, this is not your special fun time phase in the game.  Don't rent if you don't want to help contribute.

Alot of people would enjoy a custom server just because you don't like it doesn't mean it's not a fun way to play.

Yes there will be plenty of custom servers set up like you want... but ARMA3 Breaking Point mod is already set up like that. Almost. Spawning in with weapons and vehicles is fun, sure- but is agaist the spirit of what DayZ SA represents. Once it's moddable (say, this time next year, maybe), you'll be able to do what you wan, but til then you'll have to suffer with running everywhere and wishing you had a melee weapon.

I'm not going to link it here, but you can get private lan servers up and running. It involves using a cracked dayz .28 exe. Small features like flashlights, energized status, and hydrated status don't work though. It will play just fine aside from that. You can setup your own database and essentially do everything that is listed above here from modifying load outs to player positioning. You would have full control to kick/ban players that might be hacking or breaking your own server rules.
