How careful are you?

Recommended Posts

I server hop servers with less people in them and thus run around pretty carelessly. However, if it is ever a military base or airstrip, i have my gun out just in case.

I tend to have a mix of techniques, I'll run if I'm in dire need of something, but if I have supplies, I'll take my time, I tend to be careful with where I go, I normally stick to the high loot areas and search around for a bit and move onto the next one, I do like to search new loot areas, but if I find them too risky I tend to never go back again.

I like to thoroughly know my way round a place first before I move onto somewhere else, I'm pretty confident of the East side of the map now, ventured west and felt a bit uncomfortable as I really didn't feel prepared, but I'm hoping to pluck up the courage in the next few days of venturing out into the wilderness again and searching for the tiny villages along forest lines and preparing for the survival patches to come out.

I assume you didn't like my method of playing. Sorry to hear that.

All in all.

Serverhopping is just lame.

Simple as that.

I only once serverhopped, and that was, because I couldn't find a damn shotgun 6 days after it was out.

But serverhopping for mil.gear...

You can do it, but you betray yourself, I think. It's the easy way around (but I understand some people need to do this, because they don' have the time time to grind/loot.

Finding mil.gear after searching for quite a while and finding stuff when you have to be careful, watch out, etc, will make these items more important (for me).

Def agree it being lame. Still new and too busy to grind out the hours. Eventually I'll find a home server. Gotta say anytime I hear another player I don't trust them and immediately get out for a different server. Died enough times. I think I'll just kos instead lol.

edit: I dont do it for mil.gear. Tried it once as a noob got killed asap. not doing that again. I stick to a small part of the map. really trying to learn everything a step at a time.

Does it really matter if you're careful? I've tried that, still do I guess, but I've been on a server with 1 other player, literally in the middle of nowhere, feeling safe and alone, and BOOM shot in the face. So either you're on edge all the fucking time, or you run around and have fun. You never know where people are, and from the amount of time I spend out in the boonies, I know I'm there so presumably others are too... so I mostly race around and have fun. Unless I'm "hunting".

I am better off moving straight into town, scanning while on the move and using covers from possible firing points than scouting the hills.

I rarely stop on the hills for overwatch - only when my approaching direction allows me to without time going to waste. Usually that only happens in Zelenogorsk because there are good distant hills covering almost half of the area where I could approach the city. Also on airfields I do that because covers are long distance from each other when you are in the area.

Being careful is not bad but sometimes being too careful may be lethal to you. It will slow you down and make you become a sitting duck for potential murderers. Better to think through your movement and do it fast and stealth, looking around you, avoiding VPs and possible FPs, use the inside of the houses when there are more than 1 entrance, know your surroundings well and plan further your way out if needed.

It pretty much depends on a situation but overall, knowing where you are and how to get there/get out of there fast will help you stay alive. Sitting on a hill gives little to none advantage to a survivor, only to a potential bandits,
