Hackers In Experimental Build

Recommended Posts

Since Experimental came back up we've noticed a serious hacker presence.

Upon logging in I passed another player with an FNX. He missed a bunch of shots, I taunted him and left him in the dust. Cut around buildings and put some decent distance between us. Only for him to get me 30 seconds later. Either he was 300 meters away or he teleported as I never saw actually him after I dusted him. He shot probably 30 shots w/o reloading and when I was down he shot be well over 40x with no reloading. The amount of bullets he shot w/o reloading was rather comical.

A friend of a player we play with said he got shot by an auto shotgun. Probably the guy from that video thats going around the forums, Yesus.

Yesterday we met our end and respawned on the coast. We were having a bit of fun with some boxing matches on the coast with a young fellow from the UK named James who was playing Marley tracks over VOIP, when someone with a double barrel rolled up on us and killed all of 5 us w/o reloading. No reloading animation at all. Fired around 8-12 shots (guesstimate). After every second shot the third came rather quickly and I never saw a reload animation. Not sure if thats bugged, but it seemed like a hack. I have film of it, just haven't gotten around to it yet. I also took snaps and film of the player lobby which was small at the time.

Imho, its rather ballsy for hackers to hack so openly on Experimental with only 4 DE servers up. Are those servers being monitored at all? Two days straight of hacker mania. I got to admit, I'm a bit worried about Bohemia's security measures, especially after seeing the film people have been posting with that Yesus guy with the auto shotgun and etc.

Please note that BattlEye isn't always enabled on experimental servers, which is quite obviously needed for testing purposes. Happens now and then, but then it's better than having BE ban people with falsepositives.

Out of curiosity, are you in the EU?

Reason I ask is that there seems to be a proponderance of hacking complaints in Europe. I've got over 250 hours in game - all hives - and have ran into exactly one hacker, early in my playing the game. (Wall hacker). I'm located in the US Central and sometimes Western area.

Good to know. Can you confirm or deny any sort of admin presence on Experimental servers or would that be letting cats out of bags? Thanks for the reply.

North Eastern US. I've run intio more than a few hackers myself and my crew has run into several more and they've all been on US servers. Last one I remember was a FL server (Florida) where a hacker flew over an island yelling my squad mates name as he killed him. Basically, some sort of flying hack with ESP.

Can anyone confirm or deny the red BE messages being accurate or not? I took a snap of someone that was being kicked for improper signature on a building pho, yet he stayed/returned to a server more than 1x. This was on regular hive btw.

Just to be clear, there is an reload animation for a double-barrel (long) shotgun reloading with or without a snap-loader right?

TheHuntsman87, no worries mate…I'll try and get to it asap.

Wait, so you want another thread stickied with video footage of people hacking for you to see or the devs? To be honest, I'm fairly certain that both the devs and the majority of the player base know that hacking is prevalent, and what types are used ingame without the need to flood these forums with more.

Though i do love a good hack busted video every now and again lol.

I shall repeat what i just put into simple terms.....make a thread, pin it, put all videos that show people hacking so DEVs can see them all in one place

Right, understood it the first time. However in the FOLLOWING post you state, "just want to see more footage of the guy."

So i asked which is it, for the devs or for you, seeing as how you presented two alternative reasons. No need for simplicity, as this isn't rocket science lol. In the former case, I'm sure the devs are well aware of the hacking issues in dayz. For the latter, there are many people who like to indulge into hackers, server admins/clans etc... Getting "caught red-handed," but usually, threads like those devolve into utter nonsense, witch hunting and flaming, which does little for the community, not to mention the moderators who have to sift through all the bullshit.

In the end, neither have enough merit to warrant a stickied thread full of hacking footage and it isn't that hard to search youtube.

However, I'm sure there are procedures in place to report hackers and the like with evidence, though i have been fortunate enough to not need to know those steps at the present.

Apparently i struck a nerve here lol. Just don't derp your opinion around and then change it to suit yourself when someone doesnt agree with you ,and then behaving in a condescending manner when your idea was challenged. This is a forum after all...

Btw, who is teaching who here silly rabbit? ;)

I'm fairly certain the devs know a lot more than us civilians do.

As far as the majority of the player base, I disagree as the numbers don't add up. Majority of players I run into, 80%-90% are new to Dayz, meaning they didn't play the mod. Furthermnore, the majority of the player base are not on this forum or any other forum. This is a small community if I'm not mistaken. This community currently has 178,438 members. Reddit (/r/dayz/) has approx 100k members. That's less than 300k and considering the game has sold 1.7M copies only about 1/6th are on the two most popular DayZ forums. If the reddit vs dayz forum have accounts on both sites, that number is skewed even more in my favor.

I for one am always stumbling onto new hacks via forum posts here. I find the community is very helpful in this capacity. If we centralize all those posts into one sticky, its win/win for Devs as well as Civilians. I see no evidence that would suggest there would be more "bullshit" as you call it for moderators to sift through. Actually, it would make moderators life a heck of a lot easier if they only had to deal with one thread and delete the rest. Sounds like easy work to me and I have experience moderating forums.

I believe what TheHuntsman87 is asking for is for both. One thread to rule them all and in the darkness bind them.

As far as your concerns of "witch hunting" and "flaming" this can be easily remedied with film posts only. All comments being disabled or deleted by staff. If you have a hacker to report, film it and post it. Seems like an easy procedure to me.

Tell me what you think.
