Snaring or trapping?

This may have been discussed already. What are the possiblities of letting us Trap or snare wildgame as a food source?

The rarity of an animal actually walking into a trap given the size of Chernarus  and the likely scarcity of animals would condemn the feature to be rather useless unless unless specifically baited to attract animals. Seems like a bugfest though.

 

Traps for humans? Maybe.

Im with the above, using snares etc would be fun but in the long run it would be a long shot getting anyhting...instead hunting for deer is more of a winning chance

Trapping is a fine art, and snaring is part of it. I myself trap and this should be implemented. Implementation will be problematic at the least. Deer hunting is easier anyways.

same as above, my full time job is being a games keeper, i snare rabbits most days to try and stop the growing population around the area and to help stopping them from ruining my bosses crops etc. rocket did announce in the rezzed video that you can be able to crop your own produce, would be good to leave snares around your crops to stop rabbits from eating them..be great way to catch them that way i guess XD

very good idea...bear trap would be as good. With rocket saying that there will be hunted animals and predator animals later in dayz i.e. bears it would make more sense :)

Bear traps in real life are like 400$. I mean i bet you could make one with some scrap metal if you knew the basic works (jaws, pan, coilspring, or whatever works)

Very true..I retract my last comment, crafting would be cool, finding them in farming outlets etc but being rare sounds like a good plan

seems like a great idea..i tend to use the make shidt ones..I normally make around 20to 30 each week the old fashioned way as my boss is abit of tight git when it comes to buying traps etc

msotly nuisance trapping at the moment as its not the session for my boss for his crops...when its session its normally kill the little buggers to be honest

Yep would be great to see for smaller game, wouldn't want to waste ammo or even chasing down a rabbit with a combat knife XD

Without being a killjoy, please keep the hunting chat to in game hunting only please (obviously realworld references will *have* to be made), but if you really wish to discuss hunting in the real world, please search the hobbies section or make a new thread there.

 

Real world hunting can be a contentious issue and id rather keep that away from the gaming aspect.
