Newbie questions from a not that newbie anymore player.

First Question:

 

- How does work the way zombies break stuff?? Today I been in a really fun situation (fun for anyone but me, ofc). I was there so happy with my new brand military pants and jacket, both pristine :D and when I was leaving the airfield a zombie aggroed me. No big deal, get my axe, wait for him, wait, wait, wait, blow him a hit, miss (wtf, aim was good) and the zombie manages to hit me ONCE.

 

Prstine pants ruined, everything inside pants also ruined (including a brand new pristine colt 1911, thanks god I still got my CR75 pristine). But what the fuck? from pristine to ruined in one hit???

 

I also was bleeding so I was bandaging myself when another zombie (I swear she wasn't there 5 seconds ago!) agroes me from behind and comes to hit me. Because my character is so metodycal he decides to calmy and slowly keep the bandaging no matter what I do so the zombie has time to hit me twice before I kill him with my axe.

 

Pristine jacket ruined, everything inside jacket ruined (including my CR75 pristine pistol, its like God wanted to make fun of me). Dafuq??

 

Also, bleeding again. So this time MAKE SURE theres no zombies around before bandage. Look, look, ok, no one around. Lets bandage, start bandaing, all going well, all goin *GUUARRRGH*... DAFUQ??? again a new zombie from behind, got me while bandaging, first hit ¡BAM! arm broken, 2nd hit ¡BAM! legs broken, I desperately take out my axe and try to kill him, nothing happens (with arm broken I feel this may be normal, but my sensation was the game didn't respond). 3rd hit, you are dead.

 

This respawn seems a bit unfair to mee, either space out the time between respawns or the distance the zombie respawns. But that instant agroed-respawning is too much. And don't mistake me, Im all into hard zombie, being killed in a few hits makes me fear those zombies. But what bugs me is my gear getting from pristine to ruined in 1 hit??

 

 

Second Question:

 

- Is there a protection against looting your own body? how long lasts a player's body before disappearing?

I went back to loot my body (lame, I know) and when I found it, I couldn't do anything. No options. Zero. Null. Instead, a friend of mine had no problems looting my body. Is there a protection against looting my own body? (not that I complain, but would be good to know)

 

And same way, how long last the bodies? Aren't they supposed to stay until server restart? because few minutes later my body wasn't there. Same with a guy we killed (self-defense!). And Im pretty sure no one came and hid the body.

Well, the zed's are not "finish" yet, since they are going to stop annoying you wend you hide yourself on the bushes, but this is yet to come.

If you play the Mod, you will know they are almost exactly like the SA version, but like i said, the zed's need to be tunned up.

About your body looting, well the times i died (before the last patch), i was able to loot my body without any problem, the problem was my friends would stop to see the body, but i still see it, the time the body stays to be loot, well i read around the forum and i saw a guy that said, it toke 1 hour until the body completely gone, but hey....this is still alpha many strange things happens in Chernarus...

My reply is not really an answer, per se, but I wanted to relate some similar experiences. So we can laugh together!

What some of my friends have found, and I have seen, is your stuff and body do go away after awhile. What you can do that seems to work is have your friend(s) take their stuff off and put yours on. They can then take it back off and put their old stuff back on, and your stuff will hang around for a while, hopefully until you get back. It's like it disassociates it from you. If you're lucky, it will all still be there. ;)

As to your other point, one of my friends told me a zed was about to attack me. I didn't see it, but he did, so I started running like crazy, and suddenly it appeared. Another time, a mate and I were covering a third friend while he was drinking from a well. Suddenly, two zeds spawned meters away, and before he could run or we could get to him, they had him bleeding. Another instance, I was in a grocery store, and I tried to pick up a banana. I could not get it in my pack for nothing. I was getting ready to remove my pack and put it back on (a known fix for this type of issue), when all of a sudden I started flashing like you do when a zed hits you. I yelled whoa! My buddy says, "what?" I get hit again, and a third time... Then, "You are dead". Never saw the zeds. My buddy could not even find my body or any of my stuff. Two days work getting kitted out, gone in three flashes!

So, now for your answer, as banal as it sounds is - Alpha. And sadly, of all the things that can happen to you in this game - killed in a zed attack, shot by bandits, falling and dying, or even starving to death or bleeding out, the worst way to go is by 'Alpha'. It's pure Tragedy. Nothing to be learned from it, nothing you could have done differently, no way to get back all that hard work! Alpha is the ever-present, unseen demon that stalks your every playing moment, ready to strike you down when you least expect it.

Oh, and the Red Chain, his nightmarish sidekick. I live in terror of taking out my ammo box or med kit to remove something from it. Cause sometimes it ain't there when you rejoin the server.

As for the Zombies.. I mean it happens, alpha and all. But next time do whats in this video below.. move the whole time and you will be fine. Don't bandage until you are free and clear, completely. 

 

 

As for looting your body, its supposed to be a 10 min timer before its cleaned up from the server. And Ive yet to hear anything official about looting your body, so I would assume it was just a bug.
