Merrick362 (DayZ) 263 Posted March 31, 2014 I apologize if this is in the wrong forum. Ever since the last update, I have been dying in the top of ATCs. The first time, I thought it was just a sniper. Unusual to not hear anything, but hey. Maybe it was a long range headshot. The second time I was suspicious. Immediate death with no sounds at all. No Windows breaking, no snap, no thud from the round, Nothing. Just a "My leg is in extreme pain" message. This has now happened to me 4 times. Dawgstyl 51 Posted March 31, 2014 Soulds like a well placed sniper round, a good sniper can shoot well over the 800m range of the LR scope. I have made 900m+ shots and seen the player droplike a rock. I would say just stay out of the ATC towers if you keep getting killed in them. 1 Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
FollowNes 21 Posted March 31, 2014 So much weird stuff has been happening in the airfields lately. I wouldn't doubt it being a bug in the game. As for the first time you went down in the ATC, there have been times my buddies have shot or heard shots in the distance and I wasn't able to hear ANYTHING. It has to be some sort of bug.Bug's you say,there are no bug's... well maybe a few.It does sound like it is a bug maybe try going to a 0 pop and go up to atc and see if happens again. MuchHigher 65 Posted March 31, 2014 I've actually seen my friend die just like that. We were looting the airfield, he was in the ATC. I saw him walking around, then all of a sudden he just disappeared and died. I went into the ATC and couldn't find his body anywhere. I don't know if he somehow fell through the building? Very odd. monolith1985 109 Posted March 31, 2014 sounds to me like massive desync is throwing you out the window and down to the groundwhen i was on a bad desync server on an older patch, i was upstairs in a house and suddenly died, my friend came to check my body for anyone around and found me outside in the gardenso maybe you are being moved to somewhere and being killed because of it 1 Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

It has to be some sort of bug.The only way you can say that is if you were alone in the server. You realize that fact right? Usually the most simple and plausible solution is the answer. So, it was either a sniper or it was alpha. Now go make a bug report of where you were, what happened, and the fact it was more than once. Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

Facetentacles 92 Posted March 31, 2014 I died at the top of an atc tower once too, without hearing a gunshot, but assumed it was a sniper anyways because even if they aren't far away enough, I've noticed gunshots don't always register a sound. Unless you were on a server with no one I would continue to assume its a sniper. I know I've camped airfields with a mosin and LRS a few times on low pop servers waiting for server hoppers to log in and get their rewards for hopping. Lucky for them I get bored after 15-20 min usually. Like has been said, I would join a server with 0 people... Maybe join a nighttime server and try it. At the very least it will be harder for them to judge their shot in the dark even with a gamma exploit Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

I was half way up the ladder to the roof when this guy comes up the stairs, looks around and begins looting meanwhile I have frozen on the ladder in plain site an he didn't even see me.
