CaptainCandy 1 Posted March 28, 2014 When I woke up into the hellish world of DayZ I would have described these zombies as Romero Zombies. Slow, easy to kill and only really dangerous in large groups. Something happened... They began to change. I believe that something in their brains is starting to wake up. They are learning, becoming faster, stronger, more persistent and harder to kill. They are more like the zombies from the return of the living dead movies I use to watch when there was still power. Deathlove 2286 Posted March 28, 2014 Sadly this game NEEDS more skin variety. Black zombies, where the fuck are they? Asian zombies? Nope even though they are in a large part of that world..... Female military zombies? No they must not think woman can fight as good as men. Fat zombies? Heavens forbid we see an overweight woman eating our faces off or an overweight man running at us full speed. Theres lots of silly things that dont make sense they need to address with zombie variety atm. This also includes more horrifying mangled up skin designs too. CaptainCandy 1 Posted March 28, 2014 The 28 days later infected are badass. Yeah agreed when zombies don't get to feed for long periods of time they should go in to a dormant state. Lie down, not move and appear to have permanently expired. They should lunge at you or attack when you are not expecting it. That is in no way supposed to be racist I'm just stating the truth that a country like Chernarus would be (for the most part) white.It still seems EXTREMELY far fetched and backwards on allot of subjects though. Both racial, gender and physical appearances of zombies. I mean i almost feel that the diversity is needed to negate BAD stereo typing and possible racism which sounds silly if you don't ever give it much thought. Therefore, Marines are liable to have been infected (assuming that this takes place around when ARMA II took place). What they could consider is dressing the infected models in random clothing items available to the character, as these skins already exist. He HIMSELF even classifies them as zombies so i think its a bit strange when ppl defend his work saying they are not. Rotting corpses or things close to it that are reanimated back to life. If it is NOT what hes is going for he should be wording it "Infected" instead because than ppl would be able to understand there alive but not dead. The whole term zombie means reanimation. This is going to head into semantics a little here, but technically the term zombie originated from Haitian stories of villagers being drugged in such a way to simulate a dead state, then being dug up and made to work in poppy fields by gangs. the trance like state they were kept under, along with the burial and subsequent desecration of their grave led family members to believe their loved one had reanimated if they found out. Up until fairly recently the term zombie was taken to mean the undead, but nowadays it really describes people in a zombie like condition for whatever reason - such as being drugged or suffering from certain viral infections. The infected in 28 days later are often referred to as zombies for instance.Don't get me wrong, I'd rather they were undead but they don't really behave that way in game. Players would resurrect, body shots wouldn't kill, 'zombies' would deteriorate, rigor mortis would begin to change their movements after a few hours. Of course the classic zombie would bite and tear with the intention of eating flesh, rather than beating victims to death.
