Just Logged back in after several qweeks away from SA...

Well, I lasted about ten min before three zombies tore me apart. not because they were too fast [kinda like em faster] but because my guns wouldn't switch, the gun up/ready animation glitched and even when I switched to the axe, Nothing was on screen except my gushing blood and zombies. I could not run, even after one hit. And yes, the Inviso Zombie issue is here, loud and proud, as I walked away [can't run when switching guns that glitch?] So, although I was rather liking the game two patches ago [not its zombie danger cause there was none] but the game play, it was smooth and looked great, now, it looks ok, jittery and the animations are all busted...this AlPHA ,[ there said it before the reddit whiners did..] is worth playTesting, but I think I'll be back in around 4-10 months when its playABLE.

So call it alpha all ya like, its still pre-alpha IMO.

So what I'm asking is, who else thinks this is true and how many Love the game the way it is, was it worth the $35 ..?

The reason you couldn't switch weapons is usually due to de sych and the invisible zombies are too

When there's de sych sometimes it can put your weapon away instantly so that's what it was probably doing

Well you were most likely lagging and couldn't see them, so yes they were invisble because of connection difficulties where as really you were standing there and they were hitting you but on your screen they hadn't caught up with you

Sounds most likely internet issues, as I play most days and have never encountered this

I have played a little over 300hours. The 23euros i spent is most likely the most well spent money theese last couple years.

 

And yes your poor choice of log location & desync caused your death. Not to mention lack of knowledge of the game overall. Spamming hotkeys in a desync situation is likely just to get you in a long ass loop of animations. Good luck fighting with that.

...Everyones first post should be immediately forwarded to the graveyard where it is reviewed my Mods then released to the actual forums if it's worth reading. Seems like everyones first thread is a rehash of the same stuff.

 

More on point: You haven't played in several weeks, you logged in in a bad spot, you experienced the (common) 1 minute of desync upon logging in, and as said above; you spammed keys because you lack general game knowledge and this cost you your life/blood.. 

All we can say is: Welcome to DayZ.. If you weren't ready for alpha testing a product and dealing with hardcore game elements then you should have probably held off on buying the game until it was Gold.

No, it was just a bad time to get back into the game. Today there was a 170mb patch that completely destroyed the game. I'm not sure if it's fixed yet, but it causes random animations to occur when you do stuff. For example, when you try to bandage you handcuff yourself and can't do anything.

Yeah, same. Using a darker colour on a solid black background doesn't really make much sense.
