aggathor 357 Posted March 26, 2014 (edited) Hello again DayZ fans :) In this video I uncover the secrets of the zombies. Feedback welcome! Edited April 2, 2014 by Aggathor
amiasfree 262 Posted March 26, 2014 Great video, just like your others! Personally though, I find it much easier to deal with zombies as they come rather than run around with a death train. I've noticed that if you're running down even a slight incline, if a zombie does his leap attack and misses, they almost always hit the ground and die. Dkmode (DayZ) 16 Posted March 26, 2014 Great video, just like your others! Personally though, I find it much easier to deal with zombies as they come rather than run around with a death train. I've noticed that if you're running down even a slight incline, if a zombie does his leap attack and misses, they almost always hit the ground and die. I just run down hill and they flop over. I have literally been chased by 6-7 zombies, ran down the hill, to see a mass suicide flop. Just lol'd for dayz.

BadAsh (DayZ) 1513 Posted March 26, 2014 (edited) I haven't found it difficult to "clear" a town, or parts of it, of zombies, if you only use the axe and try to kill zombies standing still before they aggro, they will respawn somewhere else and not instantaneously aggro. I've even done it in Cherno with great success. You simply need to take them out before they aggro or failing that, before neighbouring zombies aggro on account of that first aggro. That will prevent the loop of doom that causes the train of zombies. That will keep the zombie encounters to 1-2 max, or even completely clear and give you enough time to loot houses without being bothered by zombies at all. Also, the sewing kit has suddenly become a very valuable item indeed (at least if you are wearing an overbody type of clothing than can be fixed by sewing). BadAsh (DayZ) 1513 Posted March 26, 2014 Also, are you quite sure that they all respawn even after being melee killed? I have come across towns which are completely empty of zombies. It is a bit difficult imagining that they should all have been drawn far away from the town.

Killing zombies is fairly easy still yes, I just wanted to help people adapt to the changes instead of complaining and it getting changed back. As for respawning zombies after melee deaths, yes they do. Same case with shooting.
Wilberfoss 6 Posted March 28, 2014 Very interesting vid. Let me just ad two things. As some zombies run faster than you´re fastest move now, you have to run in zig zag or slalom course to avoid getting hit in the back. With a good mele weapons there´s no issue to clear a town, to loot and move on before more than a few respawn in my experience.
