Possible keybind bug

Recommended Posts

Just want someone to confirm this or troubleshoot me.

My mouse2 (right mouse button) is default toggle walk/run. when i hold it down its default zoom.

im trying to unbind the walk toggle and it wont let me. in the key bindings page under toggle walk its blank. when i bind it to a different key my mouse2 still remains the walk toggle when i click it. when i tried to rebind mouse2 it tells me theres a conflict for zoom. nothing seems to be working.

Did you forgot to delete the old bind/ rebinded run to other key if it was empty or just didnt remember to save?

no, run toggle sprint is bound to something, thats not the problem. its the run/walk. thats empty. and saved.

try keybinding from the CFG file...should clear things up

i will try

just hold down w key like a man

this makes no sense, you're an idiot, edit; just read the thing over your avatar and it makes perfect sense

Agreed, massive pain in the ass, especially when you're suddenly walking in a situation you need to be running, and you're maniacally trying to figure out whether it was a right-click or double-tap of shift that initiated the walking mode.

I was always under the impression if you tried to aim without a gun in your hand it would force you to walk.

i could see this making sense considering how can you zoom your eyes irl w/o binos. what exactly are you aiming w/o a gun though? the problem in game is that i can hold right mouse to zoom and when i release it i continue to run. its when i just click it that it toggles the run/walk.

I too would like to know if this is intended or not. Sometimes the game will lag while I'm holding right mouse button, and then when I let go I am walking like I have a load in my pants. I'm thinking it is a bug, and hoping it is. It should never do that purposely.

If it's this one, it's already been acknowledged and they are working on a fix.

Yes and no. I just did some trouble shooting of my own and found that out. but the toggle walk stems from the mouse2 also being default bind to "optics"  if you have no weapon out, or a melee and you right click it toggles the "optics" mode as if you had a rifle or handgun out and you walk. This is just my opinion but that feature should only imply to having a gun out.

I changed the bind from the default mouse2, to double clicking mouse2. at least now i wont accidentally toggle walk w/o having a gun out.

yeah, that's what i'm saying.

i've just gotten in the habit of checking all the possible keypresses that might be forcing me to walk at the time, which is spacebar 2x shift and right mouse click
