When a server restarts, what time is it?

Upon a restart do they come back up with it being a specific time in the world or does it pick up where it was previously? For example, when it reboots does it always come back at 12:00 or can each server admin configure the time after a restart?

Mpgs doesnt have this function enabled yet vilayer does.

Mpgs Servers allways start @ 12 o clock, vilayer allows to set any start time.

It picks back up depending on what you set the time to in the server settings. At least that's the way it works with vilayer servers.

 

For example, before the time-lapse change they are pushing out (to speed up the day night cycle) to servers to be configurable, I would set my server to 3 hours day and 1 hour night. To do this, I would make my server restart at something like 4:30 pm or whatever, every restart. This would accomplish getting the 3 hours of day and 1 hour of night for my server. In that 4 hours, it would go from 4:30 - 8:30pm.

 

So it really depends on how the server admin has set it up. By default, assuming they don't touch anything in the settings, I believe it;s set to something like 9am, at least for vilayer.

 

Each provider has something different. Which in and of itself is weird. Like why would you NOT push your server tools to allow the maximum allowed functionality for your clients renting those servers? I have no idea, but i've heard some server hosts really don't offer jack shit to those that rent from them, which is really bad service for your customers. Vilayer adds in what they can though.

This can be set up by each server host in the server settings, therefore it may differ. I believe that the "default" value is 14:00, but like I said, that is easily editable.

That was the default on most servers I played on prior to 0.42 being pushed to stable. They were generally set to start at 09:00 and reset at something like 16:00. Why so early, I don't know.
