Carrying two primary Weapons without having one everytime in the hands

Recommended Posts

What do you think about carrying two primary weapons, without using this Handglitch?

And how do you think should that work?

My Ideas:

- Putting into Backpack,  (takes much Space)

- Crafting a sling, to carry a longweapon

-creating a new weapon category, called the "Antizombie Weapons" for example, that allowes you to take a normal

primary weapon like the m4, sks (...) , pistol, and a "antizombie weapon" like the sporter22, or the crossbow/pvc bow,

when they are implemented in tha game

What do you think?

I believe some kind of weapon bag that may replace a backpack is being considered by the devs. It's not confirmed either way as of yet though.

but if the weapon bag would replace a normal bagpack ther wouldnt be any room for other things, only your pants, and your jacket, and maby a vest as well...

That's about 20 slots if you've got decent gear. More than enough room for a couple of tins of food, a canteen, some rags and ammo. Especially when you consider that once persistent storage is added you'll be able to leave things at base and travel lighter.

You can't have it all!

That`s the intention ;) you want two "main"weapons, you gotta sacrifice something for it...

Hell, i hope some kund of "sling" system comes and replaces the "glued to the back" weapons...find&craft a sling/weaponbag/whatever or carry it in your hands and lay it down when you want to use something...

That would be the (very necessary) trade-off.  Also, a weight/encumbrance/stamina system, once in, will help make the choices very interesting.

Glad to see new things are being considered. I would love the idea of a weapon bag from the mod.

I still think slings should be implemented. Would be nice to have a way to quickly switch between my rifle and side arm. Then again I was spoiled by the military.

i think it's fine as it is.

However, carrying 2 "primary" weapons should have "massive" drawbacks, because you are prepared for every situation with very deadly weaponry.

(Like M4 + Mosin for example. Excellent from long long range until CQC under 2m)

I would like to see the shotgun capable of being equipped to melee back slot.  Since it's only good at very close range, and could make sense replacing a melee weapon.

Weapon bag sounds like a cool idea.  Would be cool if it had hand straps, like a duffle bag, so you can carry it in your hands (without replacing backpack).  Could be useful for gathering some extra guns to stash somewhere once persistent storage is a thing.

You should be able to carry as many primary weapons as you can fit...only when stamina is added. If you are maxed out in weight you should move extreeeeeemely slow.

also, that could be one thing to add to the game the longer your character survives...can carry a little more weight the longer you are alive. Like strength and conditioning.

You can use slugs on shotguns..

and with slugs, they're deadly far beyond "close range" ;)

When clooecting guns to stash, you should only be able to carry 2 guns (1 on back, 1 in hands), so you have to run more often.

And I hate the ability of stashing guns.

Persistent backpacks are enough.

You can store food, water, clothing and handguns in them

That's enough.

That's fine for now, but once base building is in, it would make no sense if you couldn't stash weapons.

I think the easiest solution that makes sense is to remove melee weapon if two primary weapons are being carried - but only if bayonet's are working properly!!

Shotguns with slugs can be effective up to about 150 yards, except the kick like hell.

I'll never understand why people think that melee weapon slot is legitimate. It was a kindness the developers gave to you to let you carry a large melee weapon. It is a bonus slot. Running around with two guns on your back would severely limit your movement.

Honestly, I would suggest that they take away the melee slot and make the hand-melee weapons more useful. Add some belt sheaths where you can store them and make large melee, like the axe, take the primary slot or stow in backpack.

but you do incur a movement penalty carrying two mains, you can't sprint + you would also have no melee weapon (unless they fix bayonet's) so good luck shooting your way out of aggro..

I think you missed the point of my post. I don't have a problem with carrying a gun and having one on your back. I wouldn't even mind a long animation that swaps the gun on your back and in your hand. What I take issue with is just that extra slot on the back. It is there just to avoid having to build "holsters" for melee weapons. Not as a potential slot to put another rifle.

Actually, not counting a backpack, its possible to have another 24 slots on your person for loot. ;)

How about this, we implement the Radio Flyer wagon. You can put all the extra guns you need to carry everywhere you go into your little red wagon and you just have to wheel it behind you.
