Get Creative

Having a gazillion cookie cutter models to pick from allows for choice but not creativity. Creative features are essential to realism and prolong the lifespan of the game.

 

I suggest making these features into the prime creative aspects:

- base building

- vehicle coachwork (re-)design

- improvised ghillie suits

- traps

 

Would you be willing to wait for creativity in these features or would you be satisfied by more expedient cookie cutter choices?

Ill wait. Im not going to be given shit because i'm impatient. And I seriously NEVER want to see ghillie suits of any kind in this game. This isn't arma.

Im talking not everyone is a 20 year veteran military soldier. I seriously doubt anyone would know how to.

For some strange reason when i looked at the title

first thing that crossed my mind was....

Now then,back on topic...

I seriously want besebuilding to be versitaile with a lot of customizations.I don't want the same copy pasted

instanced room in game (instances in DayZ don't belong IMO)

Now concerning the other things,i don't mind that much.

Ghilliesuits? Lolnope.

However, I understand: people want them.

So why not make craftable?

Burlap sack(s) + Rope + Glue/Ducttape + Green Spraypaint + Black Spraypaint + Leaves.

Over time it should get "damaged", i.e. loose the colour/leaves, so you have to "fix" it with paint, leaves and duct tape.

 

 

However: Was suggested MANY times...

Traps were also suggested many times. Hand made ones, as well as bear-traps, booby-traps with rope+nade, etc.

Bases will come.

And vehicles (bikes) are surely on the way. I bet within 3-5 months from nao on ;)

in a zombie-apo I wouldn't build a "ghillie-suit" as it now is.

I'd gather old clothes, kill 1-2 Zeds, and take their guts and hang them all over the old clothes, etc. Then wear these on top of the actual clothes/backpack. xD

Would love to see bases/traps/vehicle customization...

 

Like everyone else, if there's gonna be a gillie, it better be poor quality, and made from scratch.

I'm starting to wonder whether ghillie is a dirty word these days.

What I have in mind is not a magic suit that will render you invisible. It is binding stuff to you items in order to blend in with your environment. The quality of this improvised camouflage depends on player skill.

Because I personally don't like, even hate the idiea of ghillie suits. but I understand, people want them and it's kinda needed. But make it A) really rare and b)not "OP", i.e. slower running speed, damaging/loosing camo over time, etc.

I'm trying to stay clear of minecraft style craftable items and want some actual skill and creativity involved.

The question is not if they will be implemented, it is not even when they will be implemented, it is about what shape these features ought to take and whether you are willing to wait for quality.

I'm completely opposed to cloaks of invisibility.
