irl-calibre 744 Posted March 19, 2014 was thinking would it be a good idea to be able craft an even larger capacity backpack by adding say further sticks + duct tape, or sticks & rope. something like that?

He isn't asking for a 100 slot bag, Jesus Christ.
Capo 323 Posted March 19, 2014 (edited) I think he means that since the improvised backpacks have like a total of 12 slots, could we get one with say, 20? I'm not sure if you're serious, once you add sticks to the improv backpack, you do have 20 slots........ also it's too easy at the moment even with 20 slots, so no, i'd rather not have improvised backpacks with more slots. entspeak 374 Posted March 19, 2014 One of the benefits of the craftable backpack is it's lower profile, but that comes at a price (space)... well... two prices because it can be hard to find the components sometimes. I agree that we don't need a bigger one.
kOepi (DayZ) 35 Posted March 19, 2014 how much volume and how much weight do fit in the current backpack?if it is less than 100 liter and 60 kg, I agree with you.

I don't see why you shouldn't be able to craft a larger bag again to the same size as the largest bags already, no one is forcing you to use them..
Capo 323 Posted March 19, 2014 well here's an idea, don't craft it then? I don't see why you shouldn't be able to craft a larger bag again to the same size as the largest bags already, no one is forcing you to use them.. lol, here's a better idea, if you need more space, use the existing mountain or hunters backpack. I'm sorry your imagination knows no bounds, but I'm gonna have to come in and point out that if you fuck around with the pros and cons to using specific backpacks, you'll end up with everyone wanting the same thing - an improvised backpack, which makes no sense. It's improvised, and you're an average joe, so it seems unlikely that you'd be able to craft a sturdy backpack equal in size to say, the mountain backpack, because ducttape and sticks is not the same as factory stitching and goretex. There's nothing wrong with using your imagination, just remember to throw some logic in there every so often, otherwise you can end up with ideas that don't add anything to the game. Also I've found idea's are better received when they aren't just a 1 line of vagueness asking for more of something. Justify your own argument, explain why something is worth the effort for the developers, what does it add to the game?
Zuulass 45 Posted March 19, 2014 I normally role without a backpacki was on a highly populated server and i had to do thatmade the game more fun because if there was nothing in the towni had to quickly get to the next to find food and drinksucked when i found something i wanted though
Damnyourdeadman 1045 Posted March 20, 2014 It would be cool to craftclothing and leather backpacks from animal pelts.Maybe some recipe like: Sticks+leather+rope+rags+sewing kit

JKS-Alex 79 Posted March 21, 2014 (edited) the number of slots it's fine to me, i wish to see more craftable backpack like currier bag and currier pack, maybe in different colors as well as something smaller like fanny pack and bags instead of loads of big backpack. that will make the game more "survival" cause you have to chose carefully what you really need to take and what not, canteen, can opener (torch and gaslamp on 24h server) and a compass maybe come firstly then loads of food, ammo of any kind, 3 first aid kit with any sort of medical stuff, 2 guns without magazine, and similar things i've seen too many times on poeple, 'cmon that's not survival <_< i Hope also i will really NEED to bring a raincoat with me in future Edited March 21, 2014 by JKS-Alex
